NoRuKo is a virtual mini-conference filling a bit of the void all the cancelled and postponed events created. The name is a play on the biggest European Ruby Conference, "EuRuKo", which we organized last year. It's been quiet in the Ruby world in terms of online events, with a few (great!!) exceptions.
August 21 we'll host a mix of invited sessions, and community sessions. Apply to speak, until August 17. We'll confirm speakers as applications come in, so don't wait until the last moment to submit yours!
A session is 30 minutes long, excluding live Q&A. We offer the possibility to pre-record your talk, please reach out to us in case you'd like to go for pre-recording.
We welcome both new and experienced speakers. We place a strong value on having a diverse lineup of speakers, because people from different backgrounds come with a wealth of different experiences.
We'll hide speaker identity until after we selected our short list of speakers. Please don't reveal any identifiable details in your talk description.
We welcome deep dives into Ruby, but we’re also excited about non-Ruby proposals that are relevant to Ruby developers. Please keep in mind that our audience varies from novice to seasoned Rubyists. What we aren’t looking for are sales pitches, “my gem fixes everything”-talks, and proposals that clearly weren’t given enough thought and attention.
We require all talks to comply with our Code of Conduct. Please review it before submitting your proposal, and contact rayta@rubynl.org with any questions.
A program committee of volunteers will review all proposals and select which proposals are accepted and rejected.
For any questions about the CFP, please reach out to floor@rubynl.org
