Andy Hickl is an innovator in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and big data. He currently is a Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft, where he leads natural language processing investments in Azure Cognitive Services.

Andy previously held product and technology leadership roles in artificial intelligence at Intel Corporation, Vulcan Inc., Kiha Software, and Language Computer Corporation. He also served as Executive Technical Advisor to philanthropist Paul G. Allen. A serial entrepreneur, Andy has co-founded three startups: A.R.O. Inc., Swingly, and Extractiv.

Andy has led research in natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and ubiquitous computing. His work can be found in the proceedings of AAAI, ACL, SIGIR, and NIPS.
