Jordana Y. Shakoor is the founder and president of JYS Consultants PosiPower Concepts, Inc, a 20+ year old training and consulting firm located in Westerville, Ohio. Shakoor is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in psychology and a minor in education. She has an M.Ed..- Curriculum and Professional Development from Otterbein University

Shakoor has extensive experience traveling to train DHS agencies, children services, Community Action, and Head Start programs throughout the USA. Additionally, she presents seminars and training for educators in urban and suburban school districts, universities and private sector.

Shakoor is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Civil Rights Childhood (University Press of Mississippi. This book was selected as “1-of-40 Best of The Best” by the American Library Association and the Association of University Presses. Civil Rights Childhood is a course book in school districts and universities around the world. Shakoor is near completion on a second book.
