Until recently co-founding EDX Technologies, a spatial computing startup, he had spent the past 9 years leading public/private cloud platform initiatives at Rackspace and Ticketmaster, including efforts to build out key components of OpenStack's platform and container infrastructure initiatives.
Making Augmented Reality Work Outdoors
Many challenges exist in making Augmented Reality work outdoors, but it is very much possible to do today on a global scale. Some common problems are:
- Business use-case alignment to practical technology solutions
- Difficulty in acquiring/carrying expensive/bulky sensor/computer equipment
- Sensor accuracy and measurement lag
- Asset tracking and location accuracy
This session will cover a unique approach to tackling these problems, proof-of-concept real-world testing with results of developed software to overcome these problems, and the potential of combining Artificial Intelligence or other technologies to enable outdoor AR for even more advanced use cases.
