The more we learn about something, the more we learn that we have so much more to learn. Impostor Syndrome takes this feeling one step further into a sense that either "luck" is what got us to our current position, or that at any moment we'll be discovered as a fraud. These feelings persist despite various forms of proof that demonstrate our capabilities and capacity, but they need not drive us further into anxiety, depression or shame. By using the GROW model to catalog our capabilities and the things that hold us back, we can move past the feelings of inadequacy and into a more production relationship with our role.
Learn to identify Impostor Syndrome and develop and appreciation for how much it can undercut your work. Develop a plan of attack for the areas where you are self-sabotaging, and create positive momentum in areas you fear.

ERE Con (Recruiting Conference)

I have used interview and hiring data to continuously improve the engineering team’s recruiting processes, and continue to use this data in a unique way that many talent acquisition departments do not. In this session, RC will talk about the data he captures in the hiring process, and what his company does with that data to improve its hiring. In addition you’ll see how his team uses data to patch leaks in its hiring pipeline, and how it finds its best interviewers.

Database Week - NYC 2013

In this presentation, I enumerated the myriad reasons we had out grown our current infrastructure, and our goals for replacing it. Additionally the presentation went into a high level overview of our use of Cassandra and Elastic search as tools for storing these volumes of data and making it accessible to the many teams within Bazaarvoice.

SXSW 2010

Solr Power FTW - Speaking at SXSW Interactive was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed passing on a bit of knowledge we had gained at Bazaarvoice and that the Lucid Imagination folks (Grant Ingersoll, co-presenter) had similarly discovered.
