Being an introvert and a speaker

It is normal to feel nervous before a speaking event - but as an introvert, public speaking can be challenging at times hard.

Being an introvert does not mean you fear public speaking. It just means that you like to focus on your inner thoughts and feelings, but it needs you to plan well, practice, and find your own way of communication.

In this session I will give you my tips to Help You, to Be yourself, be a Performer, control your nerves, calm your body (especially your brain) and how you can give a technical presentation, even if you are an introvert and would rather be somewhere else.

I am not a professional speaker; I do not have a degree in public speaking, and I am an introvert. Nevertheless, I will share how a smile, running a marathon, science, storytelling, and procrastination are all related, as they all affect me when I do Public Speaking.

I have experienced almost every situation you can think of, from people leaving, falling asleep to spilling water everywhere causing the power to go - I know how hard it can be when the drums are not playing and how to recover in a cool manner – it is simple but very hard – it is a story worth sharing!

This session is about changing “Presentation” to “Speaking” - by being well prepared, being in control, and enjoying the thrill of Public Speaking.

Windows Gecko: A multifunctional solution for Desired State Configuration in Windows Autopilot scena

There as several ways to achieve a Windows desired state configuration baseline and several approaches. Windows gecko is built upon the requirement to provide a default configuration baseline, or a desired state configuration, and is not meant to stop the end user to install a previously removed app, or circumvent a desired setting, purely to allow device administrators to provide a default baseline, or corporate baseline, to the end user as part of a Windows Autopilot scenario.

The goal of Windows gecko is to provide a consistent desired state configuration to end user devices in Windows Autopilot scenarios.

The mindset of the solution will aim to allow to limit and/or combine the functionalities best suited for the task, meaning if Windows feature configuration were to be applied, this should be achievable without the Windows Registry configuration. Also, very important, is to be able to apply Windows baselines configuration in one or multiple packages in either system or user context, without changing the code – which is why all configurations is achievable using configuration files (json). This will help ensure minimal effort to create a new Windows desired state configuration, being easily completed without any code changes or re-signing the provided code.

The art of balancing Windows Security and Usability

In today's world, organizations face a constant challenge of balancing security and usability in IT systems. Security is essential to protect data, assets, and reputation from cyber threats, but it can also impose restrictions and limitations on the users, affecting their productivity, satisfaction, and performance.
If the usability of application security features is weak, users will try to avoid or bypass them. However, if done correctly, security does not impact usability, on the contrary, usability increases security.
This delicate equilibrium is particularly crucial in the realm of the Modern Workplace, where security protocols are paramount to safeguard sensitive data and systems. Unfortunately, when forming the Modern Workplace, organizations are often met by strict self-propelled security requirements. We, however, propose to aim to follow the usability trio principle, often referred to as the usability triangle:
• Usability
• Security
• Manageability
The tree areas are all equally important, despite security measures often getting the “most airtime” we have focus on usability, pursuing goals to meet and exceed productivity requirements as well as deliver on expectations for more personal computing on the devices in use.
The art of balancing Windows Security and Usability, go headfirst into the intricate dynamics of the perpetual struggle between security and the pursuit of a great end-user experience.
The focus of this presentation is to show how security does not have to be a hindrance to usability, but rather an enabler, and we will discuss the following objectives:
• Explain the concept of security and usability and why it matters for both users and IT Professionals.
• Identify the common pitfalls and challenges of designing secure systems that are also user-friendly.
• Provide examples and Best Practices of how to balance security and usability in different scenarios and domains.
• Demonstrate how usability can increase security by reducing user errors, increasing user satisfaction, and enhancing user trust.
This session is for everyone working within the management sphere, whatever area within the usability trio you reside. All configurations, functional scripts and tools is freely available, and you will be able to start balancing Windows Security and Usability right after the presentation.

Supercharge Windows Autopatch to make it fit your requirements

Windows Autopatch is a service that automates the process of updating Windows and Microsoft 365. It shifts the burden of planning and operating the update process from your IT team to Microsoft, freeing up your IT team to focus on other activities and tasks.
In this session, we will cover the benefits of automatic update management, automatic driver, and firmware update- and feature management, and the benefits of a managed Windows Autopatch service.
However, what happens when the *benefits of a managed Windows Autopatch service* does not match your requirements, if adjustments are needed, or maybe even, opt-out of parts of Windows Autopatch.
In this session we will share our real-life experiences and our Best Practices implementing Windows Autopatch in their organizations, highlighting the benefits and challenges of this feature.
We will share our experience controlling driver and firmware updates with Windows Autopatch, including how to set driver and firmware updates to automatic or self-managed mode, and how to view driver and firmware policies created by Windows Autopatch, diving in to centralized control and visibility over the update process, as well as additional features such as reporting, compliance, and troubleshooting.
Learning objectives
• Understand the benefits of automatic update- and feature management, such as improved security, performance, and reliability of Windows 10 & 11 devices.
• Understand the benefits of automatic driver and firmware update management, such as enhanced compatibility, stability, and functionality of hardware components.
• Learn from the real-world experiences and Best Practices, from deployments of Windows Autopatch in global organizations.
• Explore the features and benefits of a managed Windows Autopatch service, such as centralized control, visibility, reporting, compliance, and troubleshooting and customization.
Target audience: This session is intended for IT professionals who are responsible for deploying and managing Windows 10 devices in their organizations, and who are interested in learning more about Windows Autopatch and its related solutions.

How to use advanced PowerShell and failsafe techniques for (Proactive) Remediation with Microsoft In

Remediation (Formerly know as Proactive Remediation) is a powerful feature of Microsoft Intune that allows you to detect and fix common issues on your devices using PowerShell scripts.

I imagine, you have tried to deploy one or more Remediation scripts and the scripts either failed or returned something else than you expected – the frustration becomes even more annoying when the errors seem random across your devices.

In this session I will share where, how to use advanced PowerShell features and Best Practices to create effective and reliable Remediation scripts. You will also learn how to use failsafe techniques to handle errors, exceptions, and unexpected scenarios in your scripts.

I will share real-world examples of Remediation scripts that leverage these techniques to optimize your development time and I will reveal my path to successfully deploying Remediation scripts with no or very little errors.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to use Remediation with PowerShell like a pro!
