About Humane Canada's Summit for Animals
The Summit for Animals: Canada’s Biggest and Boldest Animal Welfare Conference!
Hosted annually by Humane Canada, the Canadian federation of humane societies and SPCAs, this conference takes place in a different Canadian city each spring. It brings together over 400 professionals from various areas within the animal welfare sector, both from Canada and worldwide.
The Summit offers a comprehensive experience that includes panels, sessions, workshops, shelter tours, an exhibit hall, wellbeing activities, and networking opportunities. It’s a transformative event aimed at shaping the future of animal welfare in Canada.
This is the animal welfare sector's chance to learn, share and advance with like-minded individuals once a year.
Submissions close October 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM (noon) Eastern Time.

Summit (April 28 and 29)
400+ attendees will come together at the conference to learn, share and advance the animal welfare sector in various educational topics.
The Summit for Animals’ program committee is seeking submissions for the 2025 conference under the following educational areas:

Sessions can be submitted as 45-minute sessions (1-2 speakers), including at least 10 minutes of Q/A or
60-minute session (2-4 speakers), including at least 10 minutes of Q/A.
Sessions can be submitted in the following formats:
Presentations and sessions should be engaging, insightful and tailored to the needs and interests of our diverse audience.
Please note that sessions are to be presented in-person in Montréal, Québec.
Learning Labs (April 27)
We believe in the power of hands-on training to enact real and tangible change in our sector, so we’re pleased to offer the Learning Labs, sponsored by Edmonton Humane Society, as a shorter pre-conference day.

Please note the Summit is currently scheduled to take place in English only; however, we are seeking an understanding of sessions that may make it possible to present in French.

Speakers selected to speak at the 2025 Summit for Animals will be given a complimentary registration pass for the Summit (April 28 and 29) and Learning Labs (April 27). Humane Canada does not cover additional speaker expenses, such as travel, accommodations, or additional meals outside what's provided on the conference days.
