Dear Prospective Presenters,

We would like to welcome you to our 2026 ACSA Leadership Summit "Call for Proposals." 

This year's Summit will be held at the Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, CA on November 4-7, 2026.

The 2026 Leadership Summit Theme is: "You Belong Here, Leadership for Every Student"

The Leadership Summit is ACSA’s premier professional development event for school leaders. This annual gathering of educators at all levels of administration is a celebration of the entire profession.

This event provides opportunities for invaluable networking and offers professional development on current critical leadership and educational issues.

60 minute workshops. will be held on:

Thursday, November 5th | Friday, November 6th

SELECTION CRITERIA: Proposed presentations will be evaluated on how relevant and practical the presentation will be to our attendees. In addition, presentations will be evaluated on description of clear, measurable learning outcomes. Workshop learning activities should provide opportunities for participants to practice skills identified in the learning outcomes. Proposals should provide evidence to support that the workshop is relevant, timely, and likely to contribute to professional development of attendees.

PROPOSAL DUE DATE: Monday, April 27, 2026 by 12:00 p.m. via Sessionize. You will receive confirmation of your submission via email. You may edit your proposal until the deadline and can submit more than one proposal.

  • No sales presentations will be accepted
  • No compensation will be provided for proposal sessions
  • Selected vendors will be required to sponsor/exhibit at the conference
  • ACSA Members will be given priority
  • All presenters will be required to register for the conference at a discounted rate
  • Selected presenters will receive a discounted registration rate

Notifications of proposal approval will be shared electronically and, if selected, an electronic version of your presentation handouts & materials must be submitted no later than Monday, October 19th, 2026.

Proposal submitters will be notified of their proposal status by the end of May.

This year’s summit will feature two types of breakout sessions:

Strand Sessions aligned to one of six leadership strands: Leadership & School Culture, Budget & Staffing, Equity & Inclusion, Instruction, Wellness, and Technology.

Job-alike Sessions designed for specific administrative roles (e.g., site leaders, C&I, HR, SpEd, Business, Superintendents, etc.). Proposals may highlight best practices for those currently serving in the role or provide guidance for educators aspiring to step into that leadership position.


Strand Session/Topics

1. Leadership & School Culture - Inclusive Leadership, Belonging & Student Voice.

  • This strand focuses on how leaders build school cultures where every student, staff member, and family feels welcomed, valued, and connected. Sessions may explore inclusive leadership practices, strengthening school climate, and elevating student voice through leadership opportunities and structures that allow students to meaningfully shape their school communities.

2. Budget & Staffing - Strategic Leadership: Budget, Staffing & Retention

  • Effective schools require thoughtful resource management and strong teams. This strand highlights leadership strategies for navigating budgets, staffing challenges, and educator retention, including building positive workplace cultures, creative staffing models, and aligning resources to support student success.

3. Equity & Inclusion - Equity, Access & Multilingual Success

  • This strand centers on leadership practices that expand opportunity and remove barriers for all learners. Sessions may highlight equity-centered leadership, closing opportunity gaps, supporting multilingual learners, LGBTQ+ students, strengthening dual language immersion programs, and ensuring access to rigorous learning experiences.

4. Instruction - Instructional Leadership for Every Learner

  • Instructional leadership plays a critical role in improving student outcomes. Sessions may explore leading data-informed instruction, supporting differentiation and inclusive practices, strengthening PLCs, and building systems such as MTSS that help every learner succeed.

5. Wellness - Thriving Together: Wellness for Students, Staff, Families, and Community

  • This strand invites sessions focused on social-emotional learning systems, mental health and wellness, family engagement, trauma-informed leadership, and community partnerships that help students thrive. Proposals that address educator wellness, workplace stress, resilience, and strategies to support the mental health of school staff are especially encouraged.

6. Technology - Future Ready Leadership: Innovation, Technology & AI

  • This strand explores how leaders can prepare schools and students for an evolving world. Topics may include artificial intelligence in education, responsible and ethical technology use, innovative school models, and leveraging technology to expand learning opportunities.
