Use this form to share your session ideas for the 2026 IRE Conference. Check out this list of tips about making a good pitch.

Have several ideas? Great! Please feel free to fill out this form as many times as you’d like. Just make sure to have your ideas in by March 10.

Your proposals should be well thought out and relevant to investigative and data journalism or industry-wide issues.

Decisions will be made by IRE staff and the IRE Conference Committee and will be based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: overall quality, well-defined, timeliness of topic, relevance, speaker diversity, fresh ideas and your ability to help plan the session. Each session is expected to give the audience take-home advice, tips or skills they can put to use once they're back in the newsroom.

Please be prepared to submit the following:

  1. A fully formed session title
  2. A description for the session that uses complete sentences and provides attendees with information about what they will learn and what they can do with the information they learn.
  3. Suggested trainers/speakers from a diverse background, including but not limited to: race, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, age, geographic location, newsroom size, media type, etc.

IRE reserves the right to combine duplicate session ideas and topics. Notifications regarding the status of this proposal will be sent to the person who submitted this form.

Please direct questions or ideas that don't fit into this form to conference@ire.org

IRE does not cover speakers' travel.
