About Humane Canada's Summit for Animals
Canada’s Biggest and Boldest Animal Welfare Conference!
Hosted annually by Humane Canada, this conference takes place in a different Canadian city each spring. It brings together 450-500+ professionals from various areas within the animal welfare sector, both from Canada and worldwide.
The Summit offers a comprehensive educational experience including panels, sessions, workshops, shelter tours, a discovery hub with exhibitors, wellbeing activities, and networking opportunities. It’s a transformative event aimed at shaping the future of animal welfare in Canada. This is the animal welfare sector's chance to learn, share, and advance with like-minded individuals once a year. IMPORTANT
All co-speakers' emails must be provided within the submission. They will then be contacted to complete their speaker profile. All co-speaker information must be submitted by the call for speaker's submission deadline, which is August 20, 2026.
Session descriptions
- Sessions should be engaging, insightful, and tailored to the needs and interests of our diverse audience.
- Sessions could include technological advancements.
Location
Sessions are will be presented in-person in Ottawa, ON.
Language
The Summit for Animals and Pre-conference Deep Dive Day sessions are delivered in English.
Decisions
Decisions will be sent out in November.
*Disclaimer: submitting a proposal does not guarantee selection as a speaker for Humane Canada’s Summit for Animals. Please note that the sessions chosen for the conference may be recorded and used for ongoing educational opportunities. Additionally, even if your submission is not selected for the Summit, it may still be considered for other educational initiatives where it could provide value.
event fee
Speakers selected for the 2027 Summit for Animals will receive a full-access conference pass (approximate value $740 - $820 CAD) which includes the Summit on May 18 and 19, and the Pre-Conference Deep Dives on May 17. Humane Canada does NOT cover additional speaker expenses, such as travel, accommodations, or additional meals outside what's provided on the conference days.
