Call for Proposals: IndabaX Somalia 2026 – Baidoa

IndabaX Somalia 2026 is pleased to invite researchers, practitioners, educators, and students in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science to submit proposals for speaking sessions at our upcoming conference in Baidoa.

We are seeking engaging, informative, and impactful talks that contribute to advancing AI education and research in Somalia and beyond.

🎤 Submission Guidelines

1. Presentation Formats

We welcome proposals in the following formats:

Technical Talks

In-depth presentations on AI, ML, Deep Learning models, tools, or methodologies.

Research Talks / Case Studies

Applied or academic research, real-world AI projects, challenges, datasets, and results.

Panel Discussions

Expert-led discussions on AI ethics, policy, education, and AI adoption in Africa.

Lightning Talks

Short, focused talks (5–10 minutes) highlighting innovative ideas, tools, or experiences.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

Machine Learning & Deep Learning fundamentals

AI for social good and development

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Computer Vision

Large Language Models (LLMs)

AI in education, healthcare, and agriculture

Data science & data engineering

Responsible & ethical AI

AI research methodologies

Open-source AI tools and community building

AI capacity building in Africa

3. Proposal Requirements

Each submission should include:

Title of the talk

Preferred presentation format

Abstract (max 300 words):

Describe the topic, target audience, and key takeaways

Speaker Bio:

Brief background and experience in AI, ML, research, or related fields

Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis

Early submissions have a higher chance of selection

Selected speakers will be notified shortly after review
