The Minnesota Public Safety Communications Conference aims to bring together a broad base of public safety and emergency management practitioners to develop a shared understanding of the key interoperability challenges and opportunities facing Minnesota public safety agencies.

The Statewide Emergency Communications Board is seeking session proposals that reflect sound knowledge of Minnesota’s public safety communication networks programs and operational best practices. To deliver exceptional learning experiences, preference will be given to proposals that feature an effective mix of the following content, instructional design, and audience considerations.


Content:

• Cutting-edge public safety technology content that reflects innovative and evidence-based best practices.

• Issues that are important to a mixed audience of public safety communications professionals.

• Topics that address what is coming to the future public safety communications.

Instructional design:

• Sessions should provoke discussion, engage the audience and be outcome-focused.

• Emphasize knowledge transfer and facilitate development of new competencies and educational takeaways.

• Include instructional methods that draw out relevant past knowledge and experiences.

Thoughtful consideration of the audience:

• Target audience represents diverse operational and leadership functions within all levels of Minnesota’s public safety communications programs and the broader public safety community.

• Provide approaches for diverse types of learners.

• Demonstrate relevance of lessons through real life case studies and best practices.
