The Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) 2026 will bring together stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to discuss emerging digital policy issues, strengthen multistakeholder cooperation, and advance Africa's digital transformation agenda under the overarching theme:


Advancing Africa's Digital Future Through Innovation, Inclusion, and Trust

Sub-Themes

  • Gender and Youth Inclusion in Digital Governance

The Forum will take place in Accra, Ghana, from 2–5 November 2026.

The programme will commence with Day 0 activities on 2 November 2026, including Youth, Parliamentarian, and other stakeholder engagement tracks. The main Forum sessions will be held from 3–5 November 2026.

The African School on Internet Governance (AfriSIG) will precede the Forum and will be held from 28 October to 1 November 2026, providing an intensive five-day capacity-building programme for emerging Internet governance leaders from across the continent.

The Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) 2026 accepts session proposals under the 2026 Theme: Advancing Africa's Digital Future Through Innovation, Inclusion, and Trust and the Sub-Themes:

  2. Digital Inclusion and Meaningful Connectivity
  3. Cybersecurity and Digital Trust
  4. Gender and Youth Inclusion in Digital Governance
  5. Human Rights, Online Safety, and Platform Governance

  7. Digital Technologies and Climate Change
  8. Digital Sovereignty 

We encourage diverse and engaging session formats, including:

  • Panel Discussions: Multi-stakeholder debates with diverse perspectives.
  • Workshops: Interactive sessions focused on capacity building and best practices.
  • Lightning Talks: Short, impactful presentations on emerging issues.
  • Roundtable Discussions: Open conversations with active audience participation.
  • Policy Debates: Contrasting views on key digital governance issues.
