Call for presentations

This is the 2023 edition of Airflow Summit, and we are looking for great speakers who will provide engaging and exciting content for the event.

If you have any questions regarding the CFP or would like guidance or support from the content team while you are working on your submission, feel free to send a message at the #airflowsummit-speakers channel in the Apache Airflow slack.

Date

Airflow Summit 2023 will be from September 19 to September 21, 2023. This is an on-site event, downtown Toronto, Canada, in Marriott Hotel.

Format of the event

The event will be on-site. Speakers must travel to Toronto to make the presentation.

With the exception of lightning talks and workshops, sessions will either be 20 minutes or 40 minutes, and blocks will include time for Q&A. We will feature:

  • Airflow Intro talks - gentle introduction to Airflow for new Airflow users
  • New features - using the new features of Airflow for experienced Airflow users
  • Use Cases - using Airflow for various sizes of businesses
  • Committer/Roadmap - what new things are coming to Airflow and why
  • Airflow & … - Airflow as a platform - building on top of Airflow to make it more powerful
  • Community - see below for more detailed description
  • Workshops - any content relevant to Airflow  (2-3 hours)

Community-related talks

Following the Apache Software Foundation's "Community over code" motto - there will also be all kinds of non-coding and diverse skilled members of the community who do not necessarily code but contribute to the overall health and strength of the community - this will be a great chance to meet them and see some of the talks. If you have a subject that you would like to submit in that area - you are more than welcome!

Expected attendees

Our attendees will be a healthy mixture of:

  •  Data Scientists
  •  Data Engineers
  •  Business Intelligence Analysts
  •  DevOps Engineers using and running the Apache Airflow
  •  "to be" users of Apache Airflow - who consider moving from other workflow engines or simply introduce one in their daily job
  •  Users and developers of products that are built on top of Apache Airflow
  •  Members of other communities that Apache Airflow Community partners with and collaborates
  •  Non-coding members of the Apache Airflow Community who help the community to thrive
