Deep dive into risk and compliance

Some conferences skim the surface. Level Up doesn't. This year we're heading underwater with a theme that mirrors what our best sessions have always done: Pull risk and compliance out of the shallow end and into the depths where the real issues live, then come up for air with something you can use Monday morning.

Level Up 27 is APP's annual conference, built by payments professionals for payments professionals. If your work touches risk, compliance, regulatory, security/PCI, disputes and chargebacks, or underwriting/KYC, this is your week.

What APP is Looking For:

APP's attendees are mostly from the risk and compliance side of the payments industry. 80%+ of the attendees are in roles considered managers or C-Suite (evenly split), with the vast majority being in the industry for over 9+ years. We're looking for sessions that target them.

Our reviewers are members, and they review sessions blindly with the following criteria:
1. Topic Desirability (40%) - would our attendees want to see this session? Is this a hot topic? Is this an old topic but one that hasn't been discussed in a long while? Would it make a better webinar?

2. Speaker Insight (17%) - Is the speaker(s) bringing freshness to the event? Has the speaker presented well in the past? Is new insight part of the presentation? 

3. Approach & Format (17%)   - Is the method chosen to discuss a good fit? Is it interactive? Will attendees feel engaged? 

4. Takeaways & Learning Objectives (26%) - Are there clear learning objectives? Is the attendee walking away with takeaways that will improve their role and function? Are there actual documents being taken away?

The six areas of focus are: 

• Risk
• Compliance
• Regulatory & Legal
• Disputes/Chargebacks
• PCI & Security
• Operational

There are four formats to choose from:

• Keynote - Sixty minutes featuring a 'big thought leadership' vibe. 
• 45 Minute - Standard sessions with room for Q&A. 
• 30 Minute - NEW for 2027. Sessions with more zip and more focused.
• Workshop - 3-Hour deep dives intended to be classroom style. A separate ticket is sold to the attendees and is featured on the day before the other sessions.
