Our mission is to promote diverse voices and perspectives in an inclusive environment driven for and by the AppSec community to increase education and awareness of application security methods and practices.

Immerse yourself in everything the world of application security has to offer. Whether you are a red, blue, or purple teamer, learn from the best of the best on how to exploit software vulnerabilities and secure software.

Software is everywhere, and application security vulnerabilities lurk around every corner, making the software attack surface attractive for abuse. If you are just an AppSec n00b or launch deserialization attacks for fun and profit, you will find something to tickle your interest at the AppSec Village.

Software runs the world. Everything from IoT, medical devices, the power grid, smart cars, and voting apps. All have software behind them. Such various topics will be reflected in our cadre of guest speakers, mentors, and facilitators, representing all backgrounds and walks of life.

AppSec Village welcomes all travelers to choose from talks by expert community members, an all-AppSec-focused CTF, contests that challenge your mind and your skillz, and more. Bring your thirst for knowledge and passion for breaking things, and your visit to AppSec Village at DEF CON 32 will be a thrill!

The AppSec Village is now accepting session proposals for our upcoming event, which will be held in Las Vegas Convention Center from August 9 to August 11, 2024. We are seeking engaging, informative sessions that will inspire and educate our attendees on all things related to application security.

We welcome sessions from speakers with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Regardless of your experience, we encourage you to propose sessions that are relevant to the AppSec Village themes and have the potential to engage and inform attendees. We are accepting the following session types:

Talks (20-25 minutes): Traditional presentations that explore new ideas, techniques, or research related to application security.

Panels (50 minutes, up to 1 moderator and 3 panelists): Moderated discussions featuring multiple speakers that explore different perspectives and viewpoints related to a specific topic. Men-only panels will not be accepted.

Workshops (2-3 hours): Hands-on sessions that allow attendees to learn new skills and techniques in a collaborative environment.

POD (Practical On-Demand) Activities (2-3 hours, ongoing, asynchronous): Small group, round-table activities that provide practical, real-world, hands-on, challenging, fun, interesting, engaging activities - or at least some of the above.

Arsenal (2-3 hours, repeating 10-20 minutes demos): Demo YOUR open-source tool!
(No commercial; no semi-commercial; no free version of a paid version).

Sessions will be evaluated based on their relevance to the AppSec Village themes and their potential to engage and inform attendees. All session proposals will be reviewed blindly without knowing the speaker's name, gender, or other personal information.

The call for sessions is open from March 10, 2023, until June 2, 2024. To submit a session proposal, please complete and submit the form before the deadline. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at cfp@appsecvillage.com

We look forward to receiving your session proposals!

PLEASE NOTE: As a non-profit, volunteer-run organization we are unable to cover travel or accommodation expenses.
