At AppSec Village, we make application security knowledge accessible to everyone. We are built by the community, for the community, and we believe that diverse perspectives produce stronger security and that knowledge should be shared, not gatekept.
Immerse yourself in everything the world of application security has to offer. Red, blue, or purple team, you'll find talks, workshops, and hands-on sessions on exploiting software vulnerabilities and securing software.
Software runs the world, and every line of code is an attack surface. Whether you're an AppSec n00b or launch deserialization attacks for fun and profit, you'll find something to tickle your interest at the AppSec Village.
Our speakers, mentors, and facilitators come from all backgrounds and bring deep expertise across the full AppSec spectrum, including AI security, API security, software supply chain, cloud-native and container security, open source, mobile and IoT, DevSecOps, identity and authentication, threat modeling, secure-by-design practices, and more.
AppSec Village welcomes all travelers to choose from talks by expert community members, an all-AppSec-focused CTF, contests that test your skillz, and more. Bring your thirst for knowledge and passion for breaking things, and your visit to AppSec Village at DEF CON 34 will be a thrill!
Ready to step up from attendee to speaker? AppSec Village is looking for the next wave of talks, panels, workshops, and tool demos for DEF CON 34. We want sessions that challenge assumptions, share new research, and make attendees rethink how they approach AppSec.
We actively seek speakers from underrepresented communities, first-time presenters, and seasoned veterans alike. The strongest lineups come from the widest range of perspectives.
Talks (20-25 minutes): These are traditional presentations that explore new ideas, techniques, or research related to application security.
Panels (50 minutes, up to 1 moderator and 3 panelists): Moderated discussions featuring multiple speakers that explore different perspectives and viewpoints related to a specific topic. Men-only panels will not be accepted. Single-company panels will not be accepted.
Workshops (2-3 hours): Hands-on sessions that allow attendees to learn new skills and techniques in a collaborative environment.
Arsenal (repeating 10-20 minute demos, 1-2 hours): Demo YOUR open-source tool! Tools must be fully open source. No commercial, semi-commercial, or freemium tools.
Sessions will be evaluated based on their relevance to the AppSec Village theme and their potential to engage and inform attendees. All proposals are reviewed blind. Reviewers will not see your name, gender, or any personal information.
The call for sessions is open from April 1, 2026, until May 31, 2026. To submit a session proposal, please complete and submit the form before the deadline. If you have questions, reach out at cfp@appsecvillage.com.
We can't wait to see what you bring!
