Session Formats

We welcome several types of sessions:

• Technical Session — 40 minutes
  A focused technical talk covering an architecture, AWS service, implementation, case study, or practical experience.
• Hands-on Workshop — 120 minutes
  An interactive session where attendees can follow along to build, configure, experiment, or solve a technical problem. Attendees will receive AWS Credits or Workshop Studio access.

For sessions involving demonstrations, please ensure the core learning remains understandable even if the live demo encounters technical issues.

Technical Levels

Please select the level that best represents your session:

• Level 100 — Foundational
  Suitable for attendees who are new to the topic. Introduces concepts, AWS services, and fundamental patterns without assuming significant prior experience.
• Level 200 — Intermediate
  Assumes basic knowledge of AWS or the topic. Explores implementation approaches, architecture patterns, and practical use cases.
• Level 300 — Advanced
  For experienced practitioners. Covers complex architectures, production considerations, performance, scalability, security, and technical trade-offs.
• Level 400 — Expert
  Highly technical content for attendees with significant experience. Expect deep implementation details, advanced design decisions, internals, or complex production scenarios.

AWS Community Day Bandung brings together people with different backgrounds and experience levels, including:

• Software developers and engineers
• Cloud and solution architects

• Site Reliability Engineers

• Data engineers and data scientists
• AI/ML engineers

• Students and early-career technologists
• AWS enthusiasts and community members

Choose your session level carefully and make it clear in your abstract what knowledge attendees should have before joining your session.

Submission Guidelines

A strong proposal should include:

• A clear and specific session title
• An abstract describing the problem or topic you will cover
• What attendees will learn from the session
• The intended audience and technical level
• The AWS services or technologies involved
• Real-world context whenever possible

Try to focus your proposal on what attendees will learn rather than only listing the technologies you plan to discuss.

We strongly encourage practical examples, architecture diagrams, code, demos, lessons learned, and real-world experiences.

What We’re Not Looking For

AWS Community Day Bandung is a community learning event.

Sessions should be educational and vendor-neutral.

We will not accept sessions primarily designed to:

• Sell or promote a commercial product or service
• Deliver a company sales pitch
• Promote a vendor without meaningful technical content
• Recruit attendees for a company or organization
• Present marketing material disguised as a technical session

You are welcome to mention tools, products, or your company when they are relevant to the story or architecture — just keep the focus on learning and knowledge sharing.

Language

Sessions may be delivered in:

• Bahasa Indonesia
• English

Choose whichever language allows you to communicate your topic most effectively.

Your Sessionize submission may also be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.

First-Time Speakers

Never spoken at a conference before? That shouldn’t stop you from submitting.

AWS Community Day is about sharing knowledge and experiences across the community, and some of the most valuable sessions come from people presenting their experiences for the first time.

You don’t need to know everything about AWS.

You just need something useful to share.

One More Thing

Don’t reject your own idea before giving us the chance to read it.

A production incident that taught you something, a small automation that saved your team hours, an architecture you redesigned three times, your first serverless application, or an experiment with a new AWS service could become a great Community Day session.

Share what you built. Share what broke. Share what you learned.
