Blipz on the Radar 2023

event date

10 Oct 2023

The Colour Kitchen Utrecht, Netherlands

Blipz on the Radar is a conference that gives software engineers, data scientists, cloud & infra as code engineers, security officers, hackers or anyone passionate for technology a chance to experience and discuss new tech trends and ideas.

On Technology Radars, Blips are new trends, hot technologies, frameworks, techniques or platforms currently being discussed in the tech community.

How about a conference where the attendees can discover and discuss these Blips face to face with other experts? And session by session we will create our very own Blipz conference techradar that can be discussed at the afterparty. How cool is that!

The 2022 edition had 200 people in a festival like atmosphere following keynotes of Thoughtworks and the port of Rotterdam with 10+ sessions and workshops. Get an impression in our aftermovie (

For the 2023 edition we already have confirmed keynotes from well known public speakers Hila Fish and Jurgen Appelo.

Hila Fish is a Senior DevOps Engineer, with 15 years of experience in the tech industry. AWS Community Builder, Hashicorp Ambassador and an international public speaker who believes the DevOps culture is what drives a company to perform at its best and talks about that and other DevOps/Infrastructure topics at conferences, social media and more

Jurgen is an author, speaker, and founder, focused on helping creative organizations survive and thrive in the 21st century. From 2008, Jurgen wrote a popular blog at NOOP.NL, offering ideas on the creative economy, agile management, organizational change, and personal development.

Blipz on the radar is produced in cooperation of Dataworkz, Skyworkz, Groundworkz, Codebeez, Lemonshark and Cyberseals

We expect a local tech oriented audience of 200 attendees working for all kind of dutch companies from scaleups to corporates to consultancies. The conference takes place in Utrecht, easily reachable by car and public transport.

Our conference consists of 2 keynotes and 12 sessions in 3 different parallel tracks: each session is 40 minutes long (35 minutes of talk and 5 minutes of live q&a). All talks are in English.

The focus of the conference is on talks about new developments in the technology frontier. For your inspiration check out the technology radars found on the internet like Thoughtworks or Zalando. Each talk will be rated on the conference technology radar (Should you look into it? Should everyone know about it?) Each session will answer the following Key Questions of a Blipz: What is it? What value does it offer? What can it be compared with? What's my experience? After the talk there will be time for some Q&A.

Please note that the abstract field can contain a maximum of 600 characters (spaces included), so if you exceed this limit it will be cut from the system.

Judging Process

Once you have submitted your application, a program commission will judge on 3 main areas:

  • Tech radar worthyness. Is your talk adressing some new idea, trend, technique or framework that should be an item - a blip - on a tech radar 2023?
  • Easy to understand. Is your talk easy for our audience to understand? We are not looking for deep dives, but for new ideas interesting for a broad  tech minded audience .
  • Expertise of the speaker.
