BSides Aarhus is back!

We are a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. Our goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time.

We are looking for deep technical talks, war stories, innovative research, and "how-to" sessions that provide real value to the attendees. Whether you are a seasoned Red Teamer, a Blue Team defender, a GRC expert, or a student with a cool project, we want to hear from you.

Who should apply? If you have a compelling story, innovative research, or technical expertise, we want you! We explicitly encourage submissions from:

  • First-time speakers: We provide a friendly stage to debut your research.
  • Local talent: Aarhus has a vibrant tech scene; let's show it off.
  • International experts: Bring us your global perspective.

Topics of Interest: We are open to all things InfoSec, but we particularly love:

  • Technical War Stories & Incident Response
  • Red Teaming, Pentesting & Exploitation
  • Blue Team, Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting
  • Application Security & DevSecOps
  • Hardware Hacking, IoT & Wireless
  • GRC, Privacy, and Human Factors

Submission Guidelines:

  • Talk Length: 45 minutes including Q&A.
  • Language: Presentations must be in English or Danish.
  • No Sales Pitches: Submissions that are purely marketing for a product or vendor will be rejected.

Join us in Aarhus to share knowledge, ideas, and failures!

BSides Aarhus is back!

We are a hands-on, community-organized technical security and hacking event. This is your chance to share knowledge, ideas, and failures, and to demonstrate your latest projects. We explicitly encourage talk submissions from both security newbies and veterans, and from people passionate about security in all walks of life.

If we don't know who you are, or if you've never spoken on stage before, we want you—so go ahead and submit a talk!

Topics We Want to Hear About:

BSides Aarhus is seeking in-depth technical talks. If you have a compelling story, innovative research, or technical expertise, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for talks covering:

  • Offensive Security: Exploitation, Red Teaming, Pentesting, Rootkits, and C2 Frameworks.
  • Defensive Security: Blue Team tactics, Threat Hunting, Forensics, and Incident Response.
  • AI & Emerging Tech: Generative AI security, Agentic AI, LLMs, and Cryptography.
  • Engineering & Code: Secure coding, Reverse Engineering, and Malware Analysis.
  • Infrastructure: Cloud, Virtualization, Hypervisor, and Mobile Security.
  • Network & Hardware: Wireless, Telecommunications (SS7, 5G), and Embedded Devices.
  • The "Human" Element: Social Engineering, Privacy, Surveillance, and GRC.
  • Demos: Live DEMO of something awesome!
  • Something completely different!

Review Criteria & Process

Our review team assesses all abstracts for appropriateness and the all-important "wow" factor. We focus on three main areas:

  • Topic: Is it relevant, timely, and does it offer new insights?
  • Content: Is the proposal clear, well-organized, and practical?
  • Community Mix: We aim for a balance of local Aarhus talent and international experts.

Note on Review Process: We use a two-stage review process.

  • Stage 1 (April 13): A "Blind Review" where speaker names are hidden to ensure unbiased selection based purely on content.
  • Stage 2 (April 14): A final review to curate the best possible schedule mix.

Submission Rules & Guidelines

We offer 45-minute talk slots. This includes 5 minutes for Q&A (aim for 40 mins talk + 5 mins Q&A).

Presentations must be delivered in English or Danish. (We recommend English slides to facilitate sharing).

In-Person Only: All presentations must be delivered in person at the venue in Aarhus.

No Vendor Pitches: Submissions deemed to be sales pitches or marketing campaigns will be rejected.

Branding Limits: Employer logos may appear on two slides only (Title slide and Bio slide).

Code of Conduct: All submissions must abide by our Code of Conduct.

Confirmation: If a selected speaker does not confirm attendance by the deadline (April 27), the slot may be offered to the next ranked speaker.
