BSides Buffalo is a grassroots, community-driven information security and technology conference held annually in Buffalo, NY. Our fourth event will be on June 7, 2025 at Canisius University, in the Science Hall building on Main Street.
Like most BSides events, we welcome speakers on security and hacking topics, ranging from offensive security techniques to building a better blue team. Additionally, we have a "hacking is art" track for people who want to speak about creating art with free or repurposed tools, as well as the "Introsec" track for content aimed at attendees who are new to the field or considering a career switch.
We've also got the other activities you'd expect - a Capture the Flag competition, soldering, lockpicking, stickers, tshirts, swag, vendors, and general hacker shenanigans. Come join us!
BSides Buffalo is a community-driven, grassroots technology conference supporting the Western New York community. It will be a one day event, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the recently-renovated Science Hall on the campus of Canisius University in Buffalo, NY.
Our goal is simple – to bring together technical students, hobbyists, and practitioners from across the area for a day of learning, networking, and professional development. This event will be an open and welcoming space for everyone from experienced CISOs and engineers with years of experience to new students and graduates looking to meet companies and leaders in the local information security community.
Please note: This is a live event. Priority will be given to speakers who are able to present to the audience in-person on June 1.
There are four tracks to which you may submit your talk:
Speakers will need to bring their own laptops or devices from which to project slides or demonstrations; projectors and HDMI hookups / AV support will be provided.
Unfortunately, as a volunteer event, we can't reimburse speakers for travel or accommodations, nor can we sponsor international travel. That said, all speakers receive free admission to the conference as well as some special speaker-only swag to thank you for contributing your time.
