Security BSides Orlando is now accepting submissions for our upcoming conference, scheduled for September 25-26, 2026.

Submission Types

All session times are hard limits, and presenters must plan time for Q&A during this time.

25 minute session presentation - Saturday, September 26

45 minute session presentation - Saturday, September 26

3 to 4 hour workshop - Friday, September 25

You must select at least one time/format for each submission. If you would like to be considered for more than one format, you must describe in your submission how you would modify your presentation to adjust for the difference in length/format. You may also enter multiple submissions.

Villages

If your submission is a fit for one of our villages, please tag it during submission. Current villages include Career, LPV, Social Engineering, and Soldering, with more to be announced. Village leads will review submissions tagged for their village. The program committee may also suggest moving a talk to a village track with the speaker's agreement.

When crafting your submission, please provide as much detail as possible, including a detailed outline. The outline should give the reviewer an idea of how your session will flow, the depth of your presentation or workshop, and how it will fit within the time constraint, or in the case of the workshop use the available time.

Workshops

Workshops are held on Friday, September 25, the day before the general conference on Saturday, September 26.

Workshop submissions must indicate which preset fee to charge for admission to the workshop - $10, $20, $50, or $100 which is split 70/30 in favor of the instructor.

Workshop materials must be available to send to paid attendees at least 14 days before the conference.

Unsold workshop seats will be made available to area students at no cost two weeks before the conference.If you want to submit a workshop, select the workshop option for the session format. Please include as much information as possible in your submission, including any requirements for the workshop, an outline of what will be covered in the workshop, and any relevant prior training courses taught or other similar experiences. Review for workshop submissions will not be anonymous and will be handled separately from the CFP review process. Workshop instructors will be notified as soon as possible.

Workshop submissions must be received by June 14, 2026 to be considered for the workshop day - Friday Sep 25, 2026. Village and Talk submissions are accepted through July 5, 2026.

Important Notes

• All speakers are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct.
• One complimentary pass for the event will be provided for the accepted speaker(s) and workshop instructor per accepted submission.
• Group/panel submissions are welcome; however, we reserve the right to limit the free speaker's tickets to (3) per session.
• Honorarium or travel expenses are not provided for accepted speakers or workshop instructors.
• Each individual may submit up to three proposals in the CFP. Accepted speakers will be selected for one session as a primary presenter and one session as a co-presenter at most.
• Anonymous review - do not include biographical or identifying information in any part of your proposal.
• No vendor pitches.

Demo:

If your session presentation includes a hands-on demo (either live or recorded), please provide a high-level idea of what attendees can expect to see, the resources you'll need, and how you'll prepare for your demo.

In Case of Non-Acceptance:

Not all can be accepted given the high volume and quality of submissions. However, we value your effort and contribution and encourage you to submit your presentation to another conference or consider presenting it as a 15-minute session during the Unconference at BSides Orlando.

Anonymity in Review:

The CFP review will be anonymous; please do not include any biographical or identifying information in your proposal or the notes section. The identifying information is hidden from reviewers to facilitate a fair review of all submissions. *Submissions received with identifying information exposed to reviewers may be excluded from consideration.

What is the review process?

Our CFP Review team will review each submission without knowledge of the speaker. Each submission will be reviewed with the following concepts as a framework for review:

• Uniqueness of Topic
• Timeliness or Necessity of the Topic
• Value to local BSides
• Value to larger Information Security Community
• Thought and detail put into the abstract

Who makes up the CFP Review Board?

Our CFP review board consists of dedicated volunteers at various stages of their security careers, ranging from students to seasoned professionals, and includes passionate individuals from Central Florida and the broader security community.

Can I submit a talk that has been presented somewhere else?

Yes, but it may not be accepted if it has already been presented and recorded at another large conference. Good content may be accepted even if it has been presented before.
