BSides312 is a nonprofit one-day conference run by longtime members of Chicago's hacking and infosec community. In fact, many of them founded the original BSides Chicago! It's built as a collaborative venue: whether you hack hardware, excel at logistics, or just bring curious friends, you help shape the conversation.

Like every BSides event, the conference follows a community-driven model built by and for hackers. Its purpose is to widen the conversation beyond the usual boundaries, offering space for people to both present and take part in an intimate, collaborative setting. The result is an intense mix of discussions, demos, and interaction where new ideas take shape.

If you and your organization are as passionate about the security community as we are and would like to sponsor our event, please reach out questions [@] bsides312.org. To show our thanks, sponsors will be welcome to chat about themselves and their organization, fostering connections with the BSides312 community.

Thank you SO MUCH for your interest in helping to bring educational content to our hundreds of attendees! We recognize that speaker content is the primary reason anyone attends most conferences, and because of this, we want to make sure you have the absolute best possible experience we can provide. As perks, we'll provide you with free access to the conference, a custom speakers-only badge, and a nutritious lunch with gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options that we promise are not some bland salad (honestly, it'll probably be Mediterranean fare).

As far as what you can do to have the best time on stage (and the best chances of being selected), here are some vital questions you can answer in your description:

Target audiences:

  • Information or hardware security enthusiasts
  • Privacy enthusiasts
  • Beginner or intermediate skill levels

Takeaways:

  • *Actionable* information attendees can "take to work on Monday."
  • "Skilling up" deliverables that leave attendees knowing how to do something new or better
  • No "thought pieces" or philosophical debates
