Welcome to the CFP for BSides Nashville 2023!! We strive to have a varied and diverse set of presentations. You may have a great basic-level talk for new folks that can be a refresher for seasoned professionals. Feel the need to engage an audience in a presentation that extrapolates into the stratosphere? We want those too.

If this is your first BSides CFP submission, or you want to delve into some BSides history, navigate to this link to get a feel for the style that is BSides.

BSides Nashville follows a blind CFP protocol. When you submit, the platform will ask for identifying information. This information will be hidden from the evaluation team. BSides Nashville has a core foundation that includes an atmosphere of learning and inclusion. In order to provide diversity of speakers, it is important that we remove implicit bias and a blind CFP supports this. Please respect this protocol and refrain from referring to yourself by name, gender, or ethnicity in the presentation descriptions. This would not apply if, for example, you were submitting for a Green track and the presentation was specific to gender or ethnicity.

Looking forward to reviewing all of the breadth and depth of topic options for BSides Nashville 2023. Just a few items before you send in your submission:

  1. We are using Sessionize again for our CFP and conference management, if you have any questions, please reach out to cfp@bsidesnash.org. This platform requires you to create an account and validate your email.
  2. Wondering how to structure your CFP? A nice outline with enough details to demonstrate knowledge and thoughtfulness, but not too many details that we get the entire presentation in word form is fairly ideal.
  3. We rate submissions both on content and submission quality. Additional detail improves the submission quality score and, consequently, the overall chances of CFP acceptance. Think slightly detailed overview with enough information that we know what to expect and also want to hear more.  That said, it's better to submit with less quality than to not submit at all. We want your submission!
  4. Please respect the blind CFP process and do not include inside jokes, links, or anything that would easily lead us to discern who you are. Note: Data entered in your speaker profile does not cross over with your CFP submission.

A special note for our potential speakers who live outside the United States.  As we are a small conference, we do not have the budget or personnel to support travel and lodging expenses or to facilitate visas.
