BSides NoVa 2025 – Call for Papers
BSides NoVa is back and bigger than ever for 2025, with 1,000+ attendees expected and multiple tracks covering the cutting edge of cybersecurity—from red teaming, blue teaming, threat intel, and thrunting, to personal development and career growth.

What is BSides?
Born from the need to give a voice to great talks that didn’t fit into traditional conference schedules, BSides is a grassroots, community-driven event where curiosity, creativity, and collaboration thrive. Speakers and attendees alike come to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and build lasting connections in a welcoming and high-energy environment.

Call For Presentations schedule

  • CFP submissions window June 30th - August 15th
  • CFP review August 16th - September 1st
  • Schedule announced tentatively September 15th


Who can present?

All professionals and budding professionals in the information security field with something they want to share or teach are welcome to submit a proposal. There is no minimum experience or certifications required.

  • 1200+ expected attendees for 2025!    
  • Several tracks of talks including a careers track and a n00b track!
  • 50-minute and 20-minute talks accepted
  • Two training tracks, accepting full-day and half-day courses

Bsides is a great place to come show off your coolest hack, most clever defense, hunt kung fu, or any other relevant topic.

Requirements

At a minimum all submissions should include the following details. Failure to provide these details severely lessens the chances of your talk being accepted.

  • Interesting and appropriate title
  • Talk summary to include the main objectives and takeaways for attendees. This summary should include enough details to give reviewers a solid idea of what your presentation is about.
  • Ensure you either submit a speaker bio or update your Sessionize bio


Workshops

Workshops must be either 4 or 8 hours. Submit your topic and a brief overview of the workshop, what people should expect to learn, what you need from us, etc. If selected Bsides will reach out for further information.

Getting Started Village
This year we’re excited to host a Getting Started Village aimed at providing teens, newcomers, and students with a head start in infosec training and experience. So we are looking for talks that show newcomers how to do things, like:

  • How to get environments set-up for training (what does a “build a lab really mean?”)
  • How to get started with online CTFs (i.e. Setting up Putty and logging into OverTheWire)
  • How do SOC analysts use open-source tools (e.g. VirusTotal, GreyNoise, etc.) to investigate alerts?

Careers Track
Are you passionate about career advancement and want to share your insights and expertise with fellow professionals? This is your chance to shine! We're seeking engaging and thought-provoking presentations focused on all aspects of career development, from personal growth to professional success.


Whether you're an experienced professional, a rising star, or a seasoned mentor, we invite you to submit your proposals for talks, workshops, and panel discussions. Share your journey, provide valuable advice, and inspire others to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of career advancement.
