Welcome to the CactusCon CFP!

It's that time again - the CactusCon CFP is now open!

We're looking for unique talks, workshops, and villages about hacking and security research. Whether you're using old-school command line trickery or fine-tuning the latest foundation models for your mischief, we want to know all about it!

Give us your best ideas - the more detail the better. We are looking forward to putting on another great conference this year, with an amazing lineup of speakers. CactusCon14 will take place in person, February 6-7, 2026, with a speaker reception the evening of February 5. Each speaker will get conference entry for themselves and a +1. See https://www.cactuscon.com for full details.

Talks (in-person only)
We are looking for talks on breaking, building, defending, privacy, hacking, connected systems, wireless technologies, and other relevant research in security topics. Presentations can be 20 or 50 minutes long, with 10 minutes of Q&A afterwards.
Talk acceptance is not related to sponsorship. Vendor pitches will not be accepted.

Workshops (in-person only)
Workshops offer hands-on training on a specific topic. Prior workshops have included lock picking, hardware hacking, Android app security auditing, cheating to win video games, and network forensics. Workshops are between 2 and 4 hours long.

Villages (in-person only)
New to the CFP for CactusCon 14! If you have an idea that's too big for a talk or a workshop, you can now submit a pitch for a Village. Villages should have a well-scoped theme, and either an agenda of speakers or a list of activities. If you pitch a Village, please tell us:

What do you plan to bring?
How do you plan to bring it?
How much space do you need?
What else will you need access to on-site?

This will help us determine how many Villages we can accommodate in the space.

Advice for your CfP Submission in Sessionize:
- Make sure the talk is applicable to this conference - hacking and information security.
- Sell yourself and your talk. Why is this topic interesting, and why are you the right person to talk about it? We get a lot of pitches on similar topics - make yours stand out.
- Please provide enough detail in the ‘Session Description’ for us to understand and evaluate your submission. Text in the ‘Session Description’ will also be used on the schedule and website.
- The ‘Notes to Organizer’ section is for additional information for the review board, like an outline of your talk, or "I can only present on Saturday". Or an outline for your talk. Did I mention we would love an outline?
- The ‘Screen Name’ in your Sessionize speaker bio is the only name we'll use on the schedule, YouTube recording, etc. That can be your real name or your handle. If ‘Screen Name’ is left blank, we will use the full name listed on your speaker profile.
- The pic from your Sessionize speaker profile will be used in the schedule and any marketing material (social media) along with your speaker bio.

We gave a talk at CactusCon 10 about how to create a great submission. You can watch it here:

CactusCon is committed to keeping costs as low as possible for attendees. As such, we cannot pay for speaker travel or lodging. If you are accepted to present and will need a visa to attend, we can provide an invitation letter, but cannot navigate the visa process on your behalf.
