Future in Motion: Elevating Transportation in Housing and Economic Growth

The Chittenden Area Transportation Management Association (CATMA) invites submissions for "Future in Motion: Elevating Transportation in Housing and Economic Growth", a forward-thinking event that explores how collaborative sustainable mobility solutions can drive housing and economic development. This event brings together voices from across sectors to foster dialogue, showcase emerging best practices, and build pathways toward stronger, more connected communities.

We are accepting proposals for 30-minute presentations and 50-minute workshops that address aspirational and real-world strategies, research, and case studies at the intersection of transportation, housing, and economic vitality.

🔍 Topics of Interest Include (but are not limited to):

  • Mobility as a Service (MaaS)
  • Transit-Oriented Development (TOD)
  • Leveraging transportation infrastructure to support housing and economic growth
  • Active transportation and multimodal connectivity
  • Fostering collaboration across Public-private and non-profit partners for mobility and development
  • Balancing local, state, and national policy frameworks for mobility investment
  • Incentivizing housing affordability through employer initiatives for workforce well-being and community impact
  • Public transit’s role in shaping and connecting communities
  • Funding challenges and innovative solutions in public transportation
  • Microtransit and flexible service models
  • Secure and accessible e-bike storage at worksites or residential developments
  • Marketing and behavioral change strategies to boost mobility adoption
  • Transportation Demand Management (TDM) vs. the true cost of parking

We are NOT looking for:

  • generic business talks
  • generic "ways to innovate"
  • talks selling a product
  • talks selling consulting

We welcome submissions from:

  • Employers and workforce planners
  • Residential and commercial developers
  • Local, regional, and state government agencies
  • Academics and researchers
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Students and emerging professionals

📅 Key Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: June 13, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 30, 2025

📄 Submission Guidelines:

  • Format: 30-minute presentation OR 50-minute workshop. Indicate preference.
  • Selection Criteria: Relevance, originality, clarity, and applicability to the conference themes
  • Selection Benefits: One free ticket per session.
  • Selected presenter(s) are responsible for their summit registration and travel expenses.
