Google I/O Extended - Vancouver

Are you a developer who loves Google technologies? Do you want to learn from the experts and connect with other enthusiasts? Do you want to experience the magic of Google I/O without leaving Vancouver?


If yes, then you don't want to miss Google I/O Extended Vancouver. You'll get to hear about the latest innovations in Firebase, TensorFlow, Responsible AI and more. You'll also get to network with other developers and have fun!


Google I/O Extended is a series of community-led tech meetups that bring the knowledge and excitement of Google I/O to developers on a city level, all around the globe. This year, we're excited to be hosting Google I/O Extended in Vancouver which will include people that attended I/O, as well as experts from various technologies to get their insights into the latest and greatest news from Google!


We'll be meeting in person in downtown Vancouver. There will be snacks and refreshments for the attendees. Further instructions on attending will be sent out closer to the event.


**Travel, Accomodation & Expenses**

DevFest Vancouver is a community-driven and volunteer-supported event. Your contribution is totally voluntary. Unfortunately, we are unable to support travel/accommodation for speakers. 

If your company is able to cover your travel and accommodation expenses to speak at DevFest Vancouver, please let us know as we may be able to add your company as a sponsor for the event

FYI: This is a fully in-person event and all speaker sessions will be in-person at the event. The event will not support travel/accommodation for speakers. 


Are you passionate about Google technologies and want to share your knowledge and experience with other developers?

Do you have a project, a case study, a tutorial, or a demo that showcases how you use Google products and services to solve problems and create solutions?

If yes, then we invite you to submit your proposal for speaking at Google I/O Vancouver 2023! Speakers must deliver the talk in-person for this in-person event. 

We are looking for speakers who can deliver engaging, informative, and inspiring sessions on topics such as

Topics:

  • MediaPipe, TFLite and On Device ML
  • TensorFlow
  • TFX and ML Engineering
  • Responsible AI
  • Bard
  • AI for Design
  • Product Design/UX Design in AI
  • Augmented Reality with ARCore
  • Trending AI technologies
  • Art of a Successful AI Startup
  • Large Language Model APIs and MakerSuite
  • Extend Google Workspace using apps, APIs, and workflows 


Some useful career developments topics could be-

  1. Art of a Successful AI Startup
  2. Portfolio/resume workshop for Developers (resume do's and don'ts, rocking your first coding/design interview, how to make your portfolio standout)
  3. Portfolio/resume workshop for Designers (resume do's and don'ts, rocking your first coding/design interview, how to make your portfolio standout)
  4. Inclusivity and diversity in tech and workspace


Session type

  1. Lightening talk - 10min
  2. Session - 30min
  3. Workshop - 45min
  4. Panel discussion - 30min. (Must include all your co-speaker's emails for your panel. Otherwise, it will be counted as an incomplete submission.)

About audience: The majority of our target audience is students/job hunters including developers/designers/non-tech but not limited to this. Anyone from any background is welcome to attend our conference.
