Citus Con: An Event for Postgres is a virtual and free developer event happening in 2022—organized by the Postgres team at Microsoft Azure. This year is the very first Citus Con. Talks will be given by Citus open source users, Azure Database for PostgreSQL customers, Hyperscale (Citus) customers, and experts in PostgreSQL and Citus—about how they use Postgres and what incredible things you can do with the world’s most advanced open source relational database.

Thank you for your interest in speaking at Citus Con: An Event for Postgres happening on April 12-13, 2022. Speakers will be able to deliver the talks remotely—all you need is a good internet connection, a decent webcam and microphone, some good light, and the talk. The organizers will take care of the video recording, livestream, and publication of the video online.

Sessions will be 25 minutes long.

Talks will be in English.

The organizers will create captions for both livestream & on-demand video talks.

Livestream videos will be delivered “live” on the days of the event. For on-demand videos, we will work with you to schedule the video recording a few weeks beforehand, in March.

First time speakers & experienced speakers are both welcome!

Here are some topics we hope speakers will propose during the CFP/CfS. By no means is this an exhaustive list. We’re looking for talks about using Postgres on Azure, and Citus on Azure—as well as talks about using Postgres or Citus open source—and talks that will introduce attendees to some of the amazing things you can build with Postgres and with Citus. Some examples:

  • How you run your app on Postgres on Azure
  • Citus open source user stories
  • Scaling out Postgres with Hyperscale (Citus)
  • How you use Postgres extensions like PostGIS, pg_cron, HLL, t-digest, pg_auto_failover, postgres_fdw, & so many more...
  • New innovations in Postgres
  • Postgres community
  • Generally interesting Postgres knowledge
  • Data modeling and SQL best practices
  • Tips for building your application on Azure Database for PostgreSQL
  • Techniques for using Postgres at any scale with Citus—from single-node to a distributed cluster
  • Migrating to Postgres on Azure
  • Monitoring tools for Postgres on Azure
  • Postgres performance (including analytics & time series workloads)

More details about the virtual event—including speaker resources—can be found in the Speaker FAQ on the Citus Con website. Our event organizers seek to provide a respectful, friendly, professional experience for everyone involved, hence there is a code of conduct.
