Thank you for your interest in speaking at Citus Con: An Event for Postgres 2023. Every single great event starts with great speakers. So we simply cannot pull off this fantastic event without talk proposals from talented Postgres and Citus community members like YOU.

First time speakers & experienced speakers are both welcome!

Remote friendly, no travel required: You'll be able to deliver your talk remotely—all you need is a good internet connection, a decent webcam and microphone, some good light, and the talk. The organizers will take care of the video recording, livestream, and publication of the recording online.

Format of the sessions/talks:

  • Talks will be 25 minutes long.
  • All talks will be in English.
  • Livestream talks will be presented “live” on the days of the event—and the recordings will be published online later.
  • For on-demand talks, we will work with you to schedule a video recording beforehand; we plan to do these recordings approx. 1 month before the event.

Topics: Here are some topics we hope you will propose during the CFP/CfS. By no means is this an exhaustive list! At a high level, we’re looking for talks about Postgres &/or Citus open source—as well as talks about Postgres on Azure &/or Citus on Azure. Some examples:

  • How you run your app on Postgres on Azure
  • Citus open source user stories
  • New innovations in PostgreSQL
  • Scaling out Postgres with Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL... formerly called Hyperscale (Citus)
  • Your favorite Postgres extensions
  • Postgres community
  • Generally interesting Postgres knowledge
  • Data modeling and SQL best practices
  • Tips for building your application on Azure Database for PostgreSQL—especially Flexible Server
  • Techniques for using Postgres at any scale with Citus—from a single node to a distributed cluster
  • Migrating to Postgres on Azure
  • Monitoring tools for Postgres on Azure
  • Postgres performance (including analytics & time series workloads)
  • Azure ecosystem integrations with Postgres
  • Running SaaS apps built with Ruby, Python, Node.js, Java, or .NET and running on Postgres
  • Using Postgres with Python and Django applications
