🔥 ARE YOU A FIRST-TIME SPEAKER? OUR SUPPORT IS WITH YOU! 🔥

You don't need to be a chief architect or a long-time industry expert to submit a proposal. We STRONGLY encourage first-time speakers to apply!

As CND Italy organizers, we are committed to increasing the diversity of voices and content. For this reason, we offer full support to all first-time speakers, helping them where necessary to:

  • Structure the Talk: Define the narrative arc, educational goals, and content sequence.
  • Prepare the Slides: Assistance in creating clear, effective, and professional slides.
  • General Presentation: Support with rehearsals and improving presentation techniques.

Send us your idea with this c4p! We are looking for increasingly diverse and inclusive voices!

Session Types and Durations

For the 2026 edition, we accept proposals for three different formats:

1. Technical Talks

Talks are the backbone of the event and offer the opportunity to deep-dive into a specific topic.

  • Duration: 30 minutes total (25 minutes presentation followed by 5 minutes Q&A and buffer).
  • Practical Requirement: We ask that every talk explicitly include a practical component (e.g., live demo, code walkthrough, real-world architecture examples). We may request reference material (e.g., a GitHub Repo) for a more detailed evaluation of the practical component.
  • Content: Case studies and end-user focused content that showcases real-world applications and lessons learned are highly welcome.

2. Workshops

Workshops are interactive, long-format sessions, ideal for hands-on learning and immersion.

  • Duration: 3 hours.
  • Slots: There will be 2 slots for Workshops in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
  • Max Participants: 30 people per Workshop.

3. Lightning Talks

Lightning Talks are short, high-impact presentations, perfect for sharing a brilliant idea or a brief experience.

  • Duration: 10 minutes.

Key Topics Sought

We strongly encourage proposals that fall into the following key thematic areas, although innovative ideas outside of these are also welcome:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and MLOPS
  • Developer Experience / Platform Engineering
  • Cloud Native Security (including Supply Chain Security, Runtime Security and Policy Access Management)
  • Private Cloud / Sovereign Cloud
  • Observability
  • SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)
  • Legal and Policies (Legal and regulatory aspects related to Cloud Native)
  • FinOps / Green Software (Cost optimization and environmental sustainability in the Cloud)

What to Include in Your Proposal

Consider the following points as you write your proposal:

  • What do you expect the audience to learn from your presentation?
  • Why SHOULD you be the one to give this talk? You have a unique story. Tell it.
  • Explain how your talk fits into the context of Cloud Native Days Italy. We want community-focused content that highlights cloud native projects and technologies, as well as enterprise-focused content that showcases use cases and lessons learned, while avoiding presentations that are purely marketing-oriented towards specific products.

Important!

We don't expect every presentation to include code snippets or extreme technical deep dives, but there are three things you should avoid, as they are often rejected for compromising the integrity of our event and are rarely well-received by attendees:

  • Sales or marketing pitches.
  • Technologies with ambiguous or potentially closed-source licenses.
  • Talks previously presented at other local conferences.

There are plenty of ways to give a presentation about projects and technologies without focusing on company-specific initiatives. Let's give space to the community!
