Code PaLOUsa 2021

event starts

18 Aug 2021

event ends

20 Aug 2021

Code PaLOUsa is a multi-day software development conference designed to cover all aspects of software development regardless of technology stack. The conference schedule features presentations from well-known professionals in the software development community. The conference also features open spaces and virtual exhibitor booths where leading software development companies come to interact with attendees to show off their latest wares.

Due to uncertainty with the global pandemic, Code PaLOUsa 2021 will be an online event.  We had a lot of success making this as much as possible like an in-person event in 2020 and we plan on building upon that to make Code PaLOUsa 2021 even better.

We are inviting the software development community to submit talks for Code PaLOUsa 2021 which will be held August 18 - 20, 2021 online. Code PaLOUsa is an annual multi-day software development conference designed to cover all aspects of software development regardless of technology stack or role. This Call for Speakers will close on April 18, 2021.

We are looking for both technical and non-technical session pertaining to every aspect of software development in the following broad categories:

  • Application Development – Sessions will cover a breadth of application development topics to help attendees develop applications that solve the user’s needs.
  • Cloud/Infrastructure – Sessions across this category will prepare attendees to deploy and manage cloud and infrastructure solutions tailored for their users’ needs.
  • Project Management – Sessions will show attendees how to manage software development projects with success.
  • Requirements – Solid software depends on solid requirements; these sessions will provide guidance on how to develop solid requirements so the team can build solid software.
  • Soft Skills – These sessions will help attendees become better people which will help them be better software development professionals.
  • Software Testing – Sessions will show how to implement the best software test methodologies to help ensure the attendees’ teams deliver the best quality product possible.
  • User Experience – No one wants to use software that is visually unappealing and/or hard to use, these sessions will provide information on how to build applications that users will want to use.

Wednesday, August 18, 2021, will be our pre-conference day where we will be offering our attendees half-day (3-hour) and full-day (6-hour) workshops. Thursday, August 19, 2021, and Friday, August 20, 2021, will be our primary conference days where we offer as many quality 60-minute sessions as we can fill into those days.

If You Are Selected as a Speaker

All speakers get a single free ticket to attend all three days of the conference.

Please let us know if you have any special requirements and we will try to accommodate. Please remember that this is a community conference brought to you by volunteers in our industry – your peers.

We Can Help

Not everyone is a natural talent on stage; not everyone can produce out-of-the-world slide decks; not everyone is a demo king/queen, and not everyone knows that they have something great to talk about. There are a million reasons why you do not consider yourself a speaker, but we are here to prove you wrong. If all you have is a gut feeling that you should be on stage, we are here to help you develop and hone the skills you think you lack to deliver a great presentation.

Here are some things we can help you out with:

  • We are happy to brainstorm your interest to see if a great topic is hiding
  • We are happy to connect you with experienced speakers to help you prepare your submission
  • We are happy to review and advise on how to produce your slide deck
  • If you need to practice your talk, get in touch and we can try to hook you up with a local group that will allow you to practice in front of a smaller, friendly crowd
  • Whatever else you might need, we are here to help

Get in touch with us at and we’ll see what we can do to help.
