DataEngBytes is the largest independent, community-run conference for data engineers in Oceania.
We are a vendor-neutral forum to bring together data experts, leaders, practitioners and community members in one place to learn about the latest in the field, share challenges, and discover new solutions. Our core mission is to drive excellence and innovation in data engineering practices through the power of community.
In 2024, we will have four in-person events in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Auckland.
This CFP is for our Perth event on 27 September, 2024 at the Perth Ritz-Carlton.

We are looking for:
We pride ourselves as a data engineering conference built for, and built by data engineers. We want to hear your real-world data engineering stories. Do you have a great experience to share that will interest our community? We’d love to hear your stories about:
- Data at rest: Data warehouses, data lakes, data storage, data lakehouses
- Data in motion: Event and streaming architectures, batch processing architectures, IoT, data orchestration
- Data we share: Data contracts, teams, topologies, access management
- Data we value: Fin-ops & cloud costs, picking technology
- Data we understand: Data modelling, metric & semantic layer
- Data for machine learning: MLOps, model deployment & monitoring, model serving & inference, data artefacts & feature stores
- Data we trust: Data discovery & provenance, data testing, data quality, data observability, ethics, security, compliance, CI/CD
