Day of Data Detroit 2026 is a free, in-person community technology event taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Ann Arbor District Library Downtown in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The event brings together data professionals, developers, architects, analysts, database professionals, AI practitioners, students, job seekers, career changers, early-career professionals, consultants, technology leaders, and members of the broader technology community for a full day of technical education, practical demonstrations, professional development, and networking. The event is completely free to attend and is designed to make high-quality Data and AI education accessible to the Michigan community.


The program includes two parallel technical tracks covering Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Real-Time Intelligence, Generative AI, data engineering, streaming analytics, SQL Server, Databricks, conversational business intelligence, AI agents, modern data platforms, database performance, analytics, architecture, and professional development. The sessions are intended for a broad range of experience levels, from students and professionals beginning their careers to experienced engineers, architects, consultants, database professionals, and technology leaders.


A major focus of Day of Data Detroit 2026 is how modern data platforms and artificial intelligence are changing the way organizations collect, process, analyze, and act on information. Attendees will have opportunities to learn practical approaches to Microsoft Fabric, Real-Time Intelligence, Power BI, generative AI, modern data engineering, lakehouse architectures, conversational analytics, intelligent agents, and enterprise data solutions.


One of the featured Microsoft Fabric sessions is AI-Powered Real-Time Intelligence: Transforming Data-Driven Decisions with Microsoft Fabric and GenAI. This session explores how Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence can be combined with generative AI to work with continuously arriving data, identify important patterns, add business context, and help organizations move more quickly from data to actionable insight.


Additional sessions cover conversational BI using Databricks AI and BI Genie, predictive maintenance, automotive warranty and supply-chain analytics, database performance and index maintenance, reporting optimization, AI assistants for database professionals, professional speaking skills, data engineering roadmaps, and the use of AI agents with enterprise data.


Day of Data Detroit is particularly valuable for students, job seekers, career changers, and early-career professionals who want exposure to the technologies and skills currently being used across Data, AI, analytics, cloud, engineering, and business intelligence roles. Experienced professionals can also use the event to exchange ideas, learn from other practitioners, explore emerging technologies, and connect with the broader Michigan data community.
