Day of Shecurity is a conference that promotes gender diversity by elevating historically excluded voices. It is a free-to-attend interactive one-day conference that originally launched in 2017 in San Francisco for women in technology interested in cybersecurity. Day of Shecurity launched in Boston in 2019 and virtual, location-agnostic conferences in 2021. The event is an effort by Secure Diversity, the Lookout Foundation, Day of Shecurity Core Team, and various organizations that believe that diversity & inclusion matter in our industry.
We always host a virtual day and, for some events, an in-person aspect. We are excited to host a conference in April. There will be a virtual day on April 25, 2024, and an in-person day on April 26, 2024. Join us to empower the current and next generation of women and non-binary people in cybersecurity!
Note: We DO NOT provide speaker or travel stipends at this time. We also DO NOT accept vendor pitches of any sort in our conference program. Thank you for your understanding.
Overview
The lack of gender diversity in cybersecurity is a matter of economic, health, and national security. It will take a global movement to move the needle. The best way to address this gap is to create access and opportunity to training and education for upskilling and reskilling. The founders created the Day of Shecurity Conference to raise awareness among women of all ages about cybersecurity careers. With numerous job titles nestled under 45 job categories, there are a plethora of areas to work within cybersecurity. These jobs are technical and non-technical, as well as fun and lucrative. We can inspire others to join us through a free day of seeing these jobs through seasoned women’s and non-binary practitioners’ eyes!

WE ASK THAT OUR LEAD PRESENTERS BE WOMEN OR NON-BINARY. WHY?
The primary mission of Day of Shecurity is to impact the lack of gender diversity in cybersecurity. This is why we use the Day of Shecurity Conferences to build visibility for the amazing women and non-binary folx in our community. While we seek women and non-binary folx as our lead presenters, we know the power of men who are allies. We encourage the support and encouragement of women and non-binary friends & colleagues in program proposals, providing feedback, and supporting presentation design.
