Our goal
We want to encourage people that wouldn't normally speak at conferences to give it a go!

Still not convinced?
Email us to get a mentor - we have a bunch of experienced speakers who are happy to have a confidential chat with you to run through any ideas you have or give safe and constructive feedback.
We're also running several CFP writing workshops this year, to help brainstorm potential talk ideas, and put together your proposal. Some are in person (in Perth) and others are online, so come along to whichever one suits you best (multiple is also an option!)
Code of Conduct
By submitting a talk to DDD Perth you agree to uphold and setting an example of upholding the DDD Perth Code of Conduct.
About the Event
This year DDD Perth will be running an in person event, and all speakers will be required to be there on the day. We pride ourself in the experiences for both speakers and attendees and are unable to replicate the "DDD Perth Experience" in a virtual event or with a remote or pre-recorded presentations. Under Western Australia's COVID restrictions, all attendees, volunteers and speakers at DDD Perth 2022 will be required to show valid proof of up to date vaccination status.
We are asking a number of optional demographic questions to allow us to report on our efforts to promote diversity of submissions.
DDD Perth is an inclusive, accessible, non-profit conference for the Perth software community.
In the past we've had a huge range of presentations which include the following topics (to name a few): Agile, UI/UX and Design, Mental Health and Personal Development, Testing, ML and AI, Accessibility, Security, Architecture and Design Patterns, Workplace Culture, Cloud, DevOps CI/CD, Mobile, IoT, Front End and JavaScript, APIs...
Don’t let this list limit you though, if you think your presentation is relevant to the industry, submit it! DDD Perth selects its agenda through a blind, community sourced vote, so if the community wants to see it, it's in!
Before submitting a presentation please consider the following:
We have an enforced code of conduct to ensure a friendly atmosphere. This must be accepted to submit to DDD Perth.
We have anonymous presentation voting; we will only show the title, abstract and tags of a talk to voters to remove unconscious bias and ensure the most relevant and wanted talks are selected for the agenda
If your talk has any identifying details, we will remove/replace them before opening voting
You will likely be speaking to an audience of between 50-150 people.
You are welcome to submit a talk with a co-presenter or as a team.
You are welcome to submit at most 2 unique talks. If you have multiple presentations voted in, we will only select one to be on the agenda
This year we have 3 presentation sizes to choose from:
Presentations are not a sales pitch although you are welcome to have a slide or two about yourself and your company.
Once the talks are accepted, we'll run several weeks of speaker training, to help you plan and build your presentation, as well as offer a chance to practice your talk and get feedback
We will open voting about 3 months prior to the event. If your presentation gets voted in and you agree to present, then this is a serious commitment.
Even if your talk doesn't get voted in, we may ask you to be a backup speaker. This means you get to go through the same speaker training as the other speakers, and if one of them pulls out or can't make it, you'll may get a chance to present on the day
Questions? Fire off an email and we'll get right back to you :)
Unfortunately, we can't cover flights and accommodation for speakers.
