Dev Around the Sun is a 24-Hour Around-the-Globe virtual developer event and fundraiser coming in mid-May. We are run by a group of technologists, from all backgrounds, with one singular goal: To raise awareness and funds for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 related illness through interactive collaboration and learning within the technology community.
We want to ensure that no matter who you are and what role technology plays in your life, you have the opportunity to take part in a very important cause during these times, while at the same time being part of a vast community of people with shared interests.
By collecting funds for Direct Relief via sponsorship and individual donation, we will be able to give back to those affected by this crisis, with the hope that folks taking part in this event will be able contribute in any way they can.

Join us for Dev Around the Sun, an online tech conference built to raise money for Direct Relief, an international, non-profit organization that delivers medical resources and supplies to the front lines for those battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dev Around the Sun is the first of its kind, a 24-hour telethon-style developer conference live on Twitch (and YouTube). The conference is polyglot, so we are looking for speakers that appeal to all corners of the developer community. Our team recommended you as an excellent candidate due to your incredible contributions.
We are looking for talks to be:
- Upbeat
- Funny
- Entertaining
- Light and approachable
We are NOT looking for talks to be:
- Deep technical dives
- Coded live
- Overly serious or sad
This global event will begin on May 12th at 12:00 UTC and run for 24 hours! Each talk will be 25 minutes long. We are looking for TEDx-style technical talks that your community will find informational and inspiring, while keeping in mind that not all viewers may be fluent in your language of choice.
We're excited for the opportunity to enable developers to give back to the global community and to support caregivers battling this disease that has already impacted millions around the globe.
