Call for Papers: DevFest Sudbury 2024

Sudbury, known for its rich mining heritage, is a city where tradition meets innovation. As we prepare for DevFest Sudbury 2024, we're looking for thought leaders, innovators, and experts to submit session proposals that explore the transformative power of AI in Mining and AI in Tourism.


What We’re Looking For:


AI in Mining:

  • Innovations in Exploration and Extraction: How is AI driving efficiency and safety in mining operations? We’re interested in talks that showcase cutting-edge AI applications in exploration, ore extraction, and resource management.
  • Predictive Analytics and Maintenance: Share your insights on using AI for predictive maintenance, equipment monitoring, and reducing downtime in mining operations.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Impact: How is AI helping to make mining more sustainable? We welcome sessions that explore AI-driven approaches to reducing environmental impact and enhancing sustainable practices in mining.

AI in Tourism:

  • Enhancing Visitor Experiences: Discuss how AI is being used to personalize and enhance tourist experiences, from smart recommendations to AI-driven customer service.
  • Destination Management and Marketing: How can AI help cities like Sudbury attract and manage tourists? We’re interested in talks that focus on AI’s role in optimizing marketing strategies, managing tourist flows, and improving visitor satisfaction.
  • Cultural and Environmental Conservation: Explore how AI can help balance tourism growth with the preservation of cultural heritage and natural resources.

Session Expectations: We expect sessions to be insightful, engaging, and relevant to both industry professionals and the broader tech community. Presenters should aim to:
