GDG Bauchi is a community of developers interested in Google technologies like Android, Firebase, Polymer, Chrome and APIs like the YouTube API, and the Google Maps API to mention a few. The largest developer festival in the world is the GDG DevFest. An international community-run conference that features code labs, speaker sessions, career talks and more.

The objective of DevFest is to create a great experience for developers in Bauchi; build a self-sustaining community by helping developers and tech enthusiasts connect with each other and help the community learn and build on Google’s suite of developer products.

Speakers’ Guidelines

  1. DevFest Bauchi seeks innovative session proposals that not only speak to the basic issues but also provide context. Speakers should offer real-world examples, case studies, successes and failures. Sessions should be designed to encourage audience participation like questions.
  2. This year’s Festival is focused on igniting tech passion therefore beginners’ friendly talks will be preferred.
  3. Talks from but not limited to the following fields are welcome: Web Technologies, Mobile Development, Cloud Computing, and Technical Writing. Open Source, Indigenous Technologies, Developers' Emotional Intelligence, Opportunities in tech, and Hardware technologies.
  4. Basic tutorial or demo sessions are welcome.

Presentation Guidelines

  1. Visual presentations should be presented in PowerPoint Format (.pptx).
  2. Please submit your presentation before the event using the Call for Speakers link.
  3. Before your presentation, it is advised that all speakers bring a backup of their presentation on a memory stick (flash).
  4. If you need to make changes to your slides, kindly inform the organizers on the event day.
  5. Please arrive about half an hour before your session to make available all your necessities.

Slides Guidelines

  1. All presentations must be made and presented in English.
  2. Use the provided DevFest slides template (click here to get the slide template).
  3. A maximum of seven words per line and seven lines per slide will improve the communication value of your slide.
  4. Time allocation will be strictly adhered to during the presentation
