DevFest Budapest 2025 - The AI Conference

Building Safe, Secure and Scalable Solutions with AI and Cloud

As this year's focus is AI, we are calling for sessions on the absolute cutting edge, with a special interest in practical applications and research from the Google AI ecosystem. We invite Googlers, Google Developer Experts, and all AI pioneers to share their work.

We are particularly looking for talks in two key areas:

1. Core Models & Research Frontiers

Show us the "what". Dive deep into the models and research shaping the future.

  • The Gemini Ecosystem: Breakthroughs and applications of Gemini Pro (especially its 1M token long context), the speed of Gemini Flash, and on-device solutions with Gemini Nano.
  • Open-Weight Models: Practical guides, finetuning, and deployment of the new Gemma 3 family.
  • The Future of Interaction: Demos and concepts related to Project Astra, Google's universal AI assistant.
  • Multimodal Generation: Beyond text. Showcasing Veo (video), Imagen (image), and Lyria (audio) generation.
  • Core Research: Deep dives into model architectures (e.g., Mixture-of-Experts), advanced statistical learning, and novel neural network designs.

2. Developer Tools & Applied AI

Show us the "how". Practical, developer-focused sessions on building real-world AI.

  • Building AI-Powered Apps: Hands-on sessions using Firebase Genkit to build, deploy, and monitor generative AI apps.
  • AI Agents & RAG: Designing, building, and orchestrating autonomous AI agents and advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, especially using tools like Vertex AI Agent Builder.
  • AI in the SDLC: The new developer workflow. Sessions on using Gemini Code Assist, AI-driven testing, and "vibe coding" (generative AI for code generation).
  • Responsible AI in Practice: Moving beyond theory. Implementing Responsible AI principles, Explainable AI (XAI) techniques, and practical safety tools like SynthID.
  • On-Device & Edge AI: Real-world applications of ML on mobile and edge devices.

We're looking for experience-based talks, the information that can not be found in the documentation or easily googled. We're looking for your stories, your struggles, research results and experiences with the frontier tools or technologies.

We are interested in anything that squarely fits into the spectrum of:

  • Cutting-edge technological advances in the world of the above topics
  • Wild ideas & clever hacks that others can learn from
  • Improving developer's life and productivity
  • Lessons learned from successful and disastrous project launches
  • Whatever you consider useful for the community

You can submit as many talks as you want. This year we accept submissions in the following formats:

  • 15 minutes lightning talks
  • 30 minutes sessions

Talks that will not pass initial review:

  • Talks whose focus is pitching a company or project. It’s cool that you mention your company during the presentation, but it shouldn’t be the focus of the talk.
  • Proposals that are not in English.
  • Recruitment talks to attract talent.

Submission deadline is:

  • Nov 7, 2025.

Any questions? Cannot find a matching topic you would propose? No worries.
