AI for Real-World Impact: From Problems to Solutions
Join us on December 19th, 2026, for DevFest Bujumbura 2026, a one-day gathering of developers, students, entrepreneurs, innovators and technology professionals.
This year, we are asking a simple question: How can we use AI and technology to solve real problems and create real value?
AI capabilities are advancing rapidly. But DevFest Bujumbura 2026 is not just about exploring the latest tools. We want to move from hype to application, from problems to working solutions.
We are looking for speakers and practitioners who can share practical knowledge, real-world experiences, lessons learned, demonstrations and ideas that show how AI, Cloud, data and modern development technologies can address meaningful challenges.
Whether you have built something, deployed AI in an organisation, experimented and learned from failure, or have practical knowledge that can help others become better problem-solvers, we want to hear from you.
Don’t just talk about what AI can do. Show us what we can solve with it.

What we're looking for
DevFest Bujumbura 2026 is looking for practical, engaging sessions centred around problem-solving and real-world impact.
We welcome sessions covering AI & Machine Learning, Gemini, AI Agents, Cloud, Data, Web & Mobile Development, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Product Development and Entrepreneurship; particularly where these technologies are applied to real challenges.
We are especially interested in:
• Real-world case studies: What problem did you face? How did you solve it? What worked and what didn't?
• Live builds & demonstrations : Show participants how to go from a problem to a working solution.
• AI Agents & Agentic Systems : Practical applications of agents, tool use, automation and AI-powered workflows.
• AI for Business & Entrepreneurship : Using AI to improve operations, productivity, customer experience or create new products and businesses.
• AI for Local & African Challenges : Solutions addressing problems in areas such as agriculture, financial services, education, healthcare, mobility, public services and SMEs.
• Engineering for AI : Architecture, APIs, data, Cloud infrastructure, security, deployment, evaluation and scaling.
• Lessons from failure : Experiments that didn't work and what other builders can learn from them.
Session formats: Talks, technical deep-dives, workshops, hands-on labs, live demos and case studies.
Sessions should be educational and practical rather than sales or product pitches. You should clearly identify the problem your session addresses and what attendees will be able to understand or do afterwards.
We welcome both experienced speakers and first-time speakers with valuable knowledge or experiences to share.
