Hello there! Thank you very much for your interest in speaking at DevFest.cz 2026!

DevFest.cz will take place on October 30, 2026, in Prague, Czech Republic. This year, we are celebrating knowledge-sharing and nerdiness with another cool theme. As we aim to be more of a festival than another conference, the venue will be full of gadgets, geeky fun and even some role-playing.

Call closes at 11:59 PM

Call closes in Central Europe Daylight Time (UTC+02:00) timezone.
Closing time in your timezone () is .

You can submit a long talk (40 min) or a short talk (20min). You can also enter multiple submissions if you have several topics, and we will pick the one that suits the event best.

The official conference language is English. We believe that all of our attendees should be able to attend any session; therefore, we only accept sessions in English.

Tip! We support the diversity of our speakers and welcome underrepresented groups in tech. We have great experience with the format of two co-speakers, and it has worked well so far. Do not hesitate to submit a CfP for two! The form includes a field for a co-speaker.

We give all CfPs a chance to be submitted, but of course, not everyone will have the opportunity to stand on the stage. If you are curious about the selection process, we will most likely use some of the principles from our previous strategy; read more at https://go.gug.cz/df-speakers-selection.

TOPICS:

If you are not sure whether your topic is relevant or interesting enough, have a look at our previous years at https://devfest.cz/. We are interested in topics focused on software development, more specifically:

  • 🤖 AI - real-life cases beyond chatbots, interesting projects and tools, security, etc.
  • 🧠 Humans - "soft skills", psychology for devs, survival in IT as a human, management topics, etc.
  • ⚙️ Open Source -  top languages, great projects, what the world should know about, etc.

Disclaimer

Which proposals don't fit? We are interested in experience-based talks. We will not accept proposals that are:

  • Just repeating documentation without your experience/lessons learned.
  • Pitching/selling a company or a product. It's OK to mention your company, but it shouldn't be the main focus.
  • Recruitment talks to attract talent.
  • The exact same talk which you've already delivered and can be found online.
  • Stolen presentations.
  • Sessions going against the Code of Conduct.

Travel and accommodation coverage

As of this moment, we cannot guarantee travel and accommodation coverage for all. This is a non-commercial event organised by the community, so if your employer can cover your travel and/or accommodation costs, it will help us substantially. We will be happy to mention the company as a supporter on the website. The money we save will be invested in the organisation of the conference and financial aid for attendees from underrepresented groups or students.

Entry to the conference: As a speaker, you will get a free ticket. Please note that we will not be done with the speaker selection by the time tickets go on sale, so if you want to join the event as an attendee, we’ll hold a ticket for you in case your talk is not selected.
