DevFest Kigali 2026 — Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era

DevFest is the world's largest community-led tech conference, hosted by Google Developer Groups in over 100 countries. On Saturday, December 19, 2026, GDG Kigali brings it home for a full day of building, learning, and connecting.

AI agents are changing how software gets made. Developers are moving from writing every line of code to orchestrating, reviewing, and shipping alongside AI, and more people than ever can turn an idea into a working product. This year's DevFest is about doing that well: building fast, building securely, and building systems that hold up in production.

Who should attend

  • Developers and engineers who want practical skills for building, securing, and deploying agentic applications
  • AI builders and founders going from a first prototype to a product people can rely on
  • Students, designers, product people, and the tech-curious who want to see what's real behind the AI hype

What to expect
Three tracks, one theme

  1. Build: hands-on codelabs with Gemini, Google AI Studio, Antigravity, Firebase, and Flutter
  2. Secure: guardrails for AI agents, data privacy, and secure
  3. Scale: taking AI systems to production on Google
  4. Keynotes and panels from Google Developer Experts, industry leaders, and public-sector voices on AI and Rwanda's digital 
  5. Networking with hundreds of developers, founders, and partners

DevFest Kigali is back, and we want to hear from you.
DevFest is the world's largest community-led developer conference, hosted by Google Developer Groups in over 100 countries. On Saturday, 19 December 2026, GDG Kigali brings it to Rwanda for a full day of talks, hands-on codelabs, an Agent-athon, and a Local Builders Exhibition.
This year's theme is Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era. AI agents are changing how software is made. Developers are moving from writing every line to orchestrating and reviewing AI, and more people than ever can build working products. We want sessions that help our community do this well: build fast, build safely, and run things reliably in production.
We welcome first-time speakers, students, women in tech, and practitioners from across Rwanda and Africa. You don't need to be a famous speaker. You need something real to share.
