It is with great pleasure that we bring to you the biggest and most diverse Google Developer-led conference taking place on the continent known as DevFest.

GDG DevFests are community-run developer events happening around the globe focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies.

This year we will be covering multiple product areas such as Android, Firebase, Google APIs, Google Cloud Platform, Google Assistant, Flutter, machine learning with TensorFlow, and Mobile Web.

Developers with a passion to inspire and disseminate knowledge, are invited to speak at this event. Topics should fall within the following tracks: 

- Android: New features in P, Developer Tools, Flutter, Testing and Architecture best practices

- UI/UX: Accessibility, Material Design

- Web: Progressive Web Apps, Polymer, Service Worker, Angular

- Google APIs

- Cloud: Firebase, Kubernetes, Machine Learning (TensorFlow, Vision API etc)

All talks are planned to be 30 minutes (aim to talk for 25 minutes and 5 minutes for questions). Interested speakers can submit as many talks as they want and the coordinating panel will select the most eligible sessions for the event.

Timeline:

-September 28 - Begin planning Call for Speakers and put together sessionize portal for submissions.

-October 10 - Open the event’s Call for Speakers and publicize.

-October 28 - Announce “one week left!” for the Call for Speakers.

-November 4 - Call for Speakers closes. Announce.

-November 5 - Begin reviewing submitted session proposals 

-November 11 - Final list of sessions decided. Notify all those who submitted of their success/rejections. Request confirmation of attendance. Begin developing the schedule. 

-November 15 - Announce the schedule.
