DevFest Mumbai is a large, community-run developer event happening focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies. Hosted by GDG MAD and GDG Cloud Mumbai, it will be unlike typical developer conferences you see in other cities.

Google says that each DevFest is inspired by and uniquely tailored to the needs of the developer community that hosts it. We take that seriously.

All kinds of topics, seniority levels, and speaker experience is encouraged! Whether you're a veteran, or first time speaker, everyone's given a fair chance at Devfest Mumbai.

Session Formats

Devfest Mumbai will have four speaking formats -

• 30 min talks
• 15 min talks
• 2 hour workshops
• Other (something else / unique that doesn't fit the above)

Guidelines for submitting a high-quality talk

• Focus on Real-World Impact: Share concrete use cases or case studies from your own professional work or projects. Talks should be grounded in hands-on experience, not just theory.  
• Practical Applications: Highlight how your topic enables new creative or business workflows in any field, especially solutions making a tangible difference.  
• Lessons Learned: Discuss challenges, surprises, or important lessons - what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d change next time.  
• No “textbook” talks: Avoid generic tutorials or introductory “bookish” content - we want authentic stories, not repeats of what’s already online.  
• Diversity of Perspectives: We don't care who you are, what you work as, or what you studied. We've had engineers, designers, product managers, recruiters, students, and even a therapist at past editions of DevFest Mumbai.

Talk Structure

• Problem Statement: Briefly describe the challenge or opportunity you addressed.
• Solution or Approach: How did you tackle or solve it?  
• Showcase: Concrete examples or demos from your work (be mindful of confidentiality).
• Outcomes: What changed? Impact, results, or stakeholder feedback.  
• Takeaways: Practical tips, pitfalls, or advice for others.
• Future Outlook: Where do you see this tech heading next in your domain?
