Devfest Mumbai 2026

event date

5 Dec 2026

location

To be announced soon Mumbai, India

DevFest Mumbai is a community-run developer festival built by GDG MAD and GDG Cloud Mumbai. It is a day for people who build things to learn from each other, across Google technologies and everything around them.

Each DevFest is shaped by the community that runs it, and we take that literally. Mumbai's edition reflects the people who show up, so the lineup is deliberately broad in topic, seniority, and background. Whether this is your hundredth talk or your first, you get a fair read.

Session formats

We run three formats this year:

  • Talk: a focused session of 15 or 30 minutes. Tell us which length you want in the preferred duration field.
  • Workshop: a hands-on 2 hour session. That is 90 minutes of actual workshop plus 30 minutes of buffer and QnA. Come ready to have the room build alongside you.
  • Something else: an open format. If you have an idea that does not fit a talk or a workshop, pitch it. Some of our most memorable sessions started here. In the past, we've had a quiz show, an UNO game, a personal finance 101, and a personality development masterclass. So get creative!

What makes a strong submission

  • Real experience over theory. Bring use cases and case studies from work you actually did.
  • Practical takeaways. Show how your topic changes how people build, ship, or decide.
  • Honest lessons. What broke, what surprised you, and what you would do differently.
  • No textbook talks. If the content already exists as a tutorial online, we are not the venue for it.
  • Any background welcome. Past editions have featured engineers, designers, PMs, recruiters, founders, students, and once a therapist. Good thinking is good thinking.

A structure that tends to work

  • The problem: the challenge or opportunity you took on.
  • The approach: how you tackled it.
  • The proof: demos or concrete examples, mindful of confidentiality.
  • The outcome: what changed, and how you know.
  • The takeaways: tips and traps for the people in the room.
  • What is next: where you see this heading in your domain.

Submissions are reviewed purely on the title and abstract, so spend your energy there. Speaker profiles stay hidden to keep the review unbiased, and the organizers do not evaluate. An independent jury of senior community experts does the evaluation.
