🌟 DevFest 2026: GDG Ottawa x QMIND — Call for Speakers 🌟
GDG Ottawa is bringing DevFest content to Camp QMIND, QMIND's flagship hackathon weekend (October 3–4, 2026) at Queen's University, Kingston, and we're looking for speakers and workshop facilitators to lead a session for the 150+ student builders and developers .
QMIND is Canada's largest undergraduate organization on AI — their members are hands-on, driven, and already building real AI projects for industry partners. This is a chance to speak directly to that audience, in the middle of their hackathon, while they're actively building.
We're accepting submissions for two tracks:
🛠️ Builder Track — for talks and hands-on sessions on using AI assistance to build apps, automate workflows, or create solutions without deep coding backgrounds. Think: AI Studio, building with Gemini, or building with the Google Maps platform + AI.
⚙️ Developer Track — for more technical sessions on agentic development: building with the Agent Development Kit (ADK), deploying and scaling production-ready agents, multi-agent systems, or securing enterprise agents.
Formats welcome:
Talks — a focused presentation on a topic in either track
Workshops — hands-on sessions where attendees build something during your slot
Why speak?
Reach a room of engaged, technical undergrad talent from across Canada
Be part of QMIND's flagship onboarding event and hackathon
Help shape what AI-assisted building looks like for the next generation of developers

Call for Speakers & Workshop Leaders 🌟
DevFest is heading somewhere new this year! 🎉 On the weekend of October 3–4, 2026, GDG Ottawa is partnering with QMIND to bring a DevFest session inside Camp QMIND, their flagship hackathon at Queen's University, Kingston — reaching 150+ of Canada's most engaged undergraduate AI builders.
This year's focus is split across two tracks: helping Builders — non-traditional developers using AI assistance to build apps and automate workflows — and giving Developers the technical depth to build, deploy, and scale AI agents. We're inviting speakers, practitioners, and community leaders to share their insights with a room full of students who'll be building all weekend.
Beyond talks, we're especially excited to offer hands-on workshops. If you're passionate about teaching and want to help participants build with Gemini, we'd love for you to lead an interactive, code-along session where attendees can learn by doing.
📢 Have something to share?
Check out the topic areas below. Even if your proposal doesn't fit them perfectly, we still want to hear from you! Submit your session idea by 28 September.
