Our motto for this year is "be open". How can we open ourselves to collaborate better, how can we open our software to extend reach, and what does it need to foster an open minded community. 

We look for speakers who can talk about open source, open development and culture in the following areas:

• Architecture
• Front-End
• Programming Languages
• Cloud, Containers & Infrastructure
• Security
• The Java Ecosystem
• Methodology & Culture
• Big Data & AI

Talk details

We are looking for different kinds of talks:

Regular conference session. A 25-30 minute talk for one of our topics listed above. You talk on the main conference stage in front of 800 people.

Deep dive sessions. A more in depth, hands-on look at certain technologies. 50-60 minutes in front of 100 people.

Chalk talks. A 25-30 minute discussion in a casual atmosphere (up to 30 people). Less slides, more interactive.

Full-day and half-day workshops. A separately sold workshop the day before the conference (April 22nd). Duration is 3 hours for a half-day workshop, 6 hours for a full day workshop, excluding breaks. Train up to 20 people in a very specific topic! Speaker fee included.

Expenses are covered

We cover your hotel and your travel to Linz. Our usual budget for travel is: 150 EUR for DACH area, 300 EUR for Europe, 900 EUR outside Europe, 1300 EUR Oceania.

All speakers and proposals must adhere our Code of Conduct! The selection process is blind, and done by a diverse program committee. At the later stage of the speaker selection we look at the top proposals and decide based on our values for inclusion, diversity and topics.
