Hi everyone,

Be ready for another great Umbraco community experience! After the success of recents years we are running an in-person event and we are ready to receive you all back on Thursday the 18th of September in the Fabrique in Utrecht. We can't wait to welcome you to the stage!

Please read the description below and feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

What topics can be featured in DF24?

  • Doing business using Umbraco
Your talk targets sales, marketing and project managers that might have little or no technical background. The presentation is focused on case-studies and enhancing client communication.

  • Developers
Your talk targets .NET developers, DevOps with a strong focus on code and the technical part of working with Umbraco. The talk delves into Umbraco and will give any developer an edge in the fast-moving world of the friendly CMS.

Your talk targets web designers and web developers. The audience can expect design-focused talks that might contain HTML, JavaScript, or CSS, but none (or very little) .NET code.

  • Something new
We welcome new ideas that you have for a talk you believe would be a great fit for DF24 audience. There are, however, talks that we are unable to include in the program because they are too far out of the range of topics.

How do we select the speakers?
We have a panel of reviewers with different backgrounds and perspectives. The proposals are presented to the reviewers, who then review each submission and add a comment. Once the review is finished, the next phase starts by discussing the top proposals. The decision is made based on the time slots available and the diversity of the topics.

As much as we want to accept as many proposals as possible, we are not always able to confirm a time slot for each of the proposals that received a positive review.

What format does the presentation have?
The sessions are planned to be 25 - 50 minutes long plus 5 minutes Q&A with the help of a moderator.

When can I expect to hear back from you?

  1. 01 April 2024 -- Call for Speakers open
  2. 01 July 2023 -- Call for Speakers closes
  3. 07 July 2023 -- Communication of results

Diversity pledge
We believe that a diverse environment fosters creativity, knowledge sharing, and innovation. In recent years, we have been actively seeking to increase the diversity of the DF23 attendees and speakers through the active support of a diverse speaker lineup and offering diversity and accessibility scholarships.

In this year’s event, we aim to feature speakers from different backgrounds, genders, and geographic locations in addition to a variety of organizations. We encourage people from all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences to submit their proposals.

Some practical information for your submission

  • You can submit up to 3 proposals and include 1 co-speaker.
  • Please submit your bio where the audience get to know you
  • Make the session title and description shine, and keep in mind the main takeaways your target audience will get from your talk
  • The notes field is meant for any special requirements or information which doesn't fit into the description of your talk.
  • The track and target audience fields are used as an aid for the planning, pick which you feel your talk fits best

If you have accessibility requirements, please let connect with us so we can work together on this.

Travel & Accommodation
DF24 covers expenses for travel and accommodation for selected speakers. However we are a community run event and if your employer can cover your costs that would be awesome.
