The session length is 30 + 15 mins (for QnA). In case you plan to submit the paper for the sessions, here’s how you can ensure chances for your session selection increase multifold:
Choose a Specialty
Decide what your speciality is. List down your interest areas. Write topics, target audience, and your expertise level around that. It can be more than one. .
Be Creative with Title
People do judge a book by its cover. Titles go a long way to make or break the deal. They bring clarity in the reader’s mind and bring to fore the right expectations from you.
Some of the previously selected session titles include:
- Being !Black Hat With Drupal
- Inspiring Youngsters to become Drupal Evangelists.
- From a team member to a first time manager
- Cache Me If You Can!
Structure the Overview
When 100 words (or less) is the limit, you need to ensure that every word makes a powerful impact. A powerful overview is a chance to build upon the expectations. Start by:
- Identifying the problem
- Summarizing your (unique) solution,
- Identifying audience (mention who will be most benefited),
your top message/s
After you've nailed your outline, you are ready for the submission form. Remember: be as precise and descriptive as possible.
Think like the selector
Do not sell a product pitch. One of the top reasons for not getting selected is the session too closely resembles a product pitch, and does not create value for the audience.
Good Luck. See you at DCD 19! 👋
